Parliament Gardens in Melbourne is a serene and beautifully landscaped public space located adjacent to the Victorian Parliament House at the corner of Spring and Nicholson Streets. This small yet charming garden provides a peaceful retreat within the heart of the city, offering a place for relaxation and reflection amidst lush greenery.

The gardens are known for their well-maintained lawns, a variety of mature trees, and vibrant flower beds, which together create a tranquil oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding city. One of the key features of Parliament Gardens is the Coles Fountain, a modernist water feature that adds a soothing auditory element to the space, enhancing the garden's peaceful atmosphere.

Parliament Gardens also holds historical significance, as they are situated near some of Melbourne's most important civic buildings, including Parliament House and St Patrick's Cathedral. The gardens serve as a popular spot for city workers, tourists, and locals alike to enjoy a quiet break, have a picnic, or simply take in the natural beauty of the area.

It was nice. I had a fun time. Great place for a picnic. Not sure why, but it's hard to describe it. The owner is very cool. He would go back if I wanted.

The food was awesome! The service was great! I have had yummy meals before here, but never come back for lunch. So that was perfect I just got the Chicken n' Waffles. You get the waffles with chicken, bacon AND Waffles. It is so good it's hard to describe. I am so disappointed. They don't even come out yet and it took us 1 hour to get the food! When we arrived it was already dark so the waffles were ready. You cannot see when they are ready, but you start getting one of those big waffles in the middle of it and they smell like cinnamon. To be fair, this place is not even open yet and it was kind of a disappointment because we needed to get our food before 9 and it wasn't ready when we got here so it might be getting late for us.

My friend and I had a long wait in line, which was totally annoying, because our friend was eating at this place for almost an hour. When we finally made it in, we were pleasantly surprised. The service was great, the food was pretty basic and it was...

Melbourne is known for its parks and gardens and the Parliament Gardens are although small, no less beautiful. The location is right next to Parliament House but also opposite the Princess Theatre and Parliament Railway Station with of course trams running out the front. It's on the corner so triangular in shape but big bang on a place to lie on the lovely green grass, listen to the sound of the fountain and soak up Melbourne.

Withinthe park is a memorial for two of the most prominent indigenous leaders of Australia; Pastor Sir Douglas and Lady Gladys. Plus there is also included with the memorial an artwork by Ngarra Murray.

The Coles Fountain which was built in 1981 attracts many people during the warmer months with its cascading curtain of water. I find the sound very tranquil and inviting, especially when the ducks come to visit and bring their ducklings. There are park benches, water fountain and plenty of bins.

Notes: Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly. No bikes to be ridden...

Yet another one of Melbourne's beautiful gardens and like a number of these, being right on the edge of the city and hence within walking distance of the CBD, it's the perfect place for city workers to get away from their desks, have lunch, go for a stroll and stretch their legs, or just relax in a beautiful garden sanctuary setting during their breaks. It small but has good seating and grassed areas and a feature walk in fountain. It's also well maintained and just the perfect place to chillax. Well done Melbourne! With o many gardens like this, it really is no wonder that it's so often rated as the most livable city in the world. Another feature of the Parliament Gardens is the Memorial to Pastor Sir Douglas and Lady Gladys Nicholls.
