THANK YOU so much to the people of Lucky Star Bakery from both my godfather/friend Peter and I absolutely everything you did for us as first time customer late this morning (at around 10:15am to my recollection) on Monday 28/07/2025. We were paying a visit to Sandringham and it caught our eye. Lucky Star Bakery is both a Sandringham institution and a gem!
Entering inside, both Peter and I were very impressed with the truly amazing selection of truly exceptional baked goods including all manner of cakes, pies, cookies and they serve the iconic Vietnamese sandwich, Banh Mi!
What caught our eyes was a chalkboard sigh saying "Try our famous party pies, the best in town, flavourful / juicy / crispy / hot"...and at $1.80 per party pie - Peter and I got 8 with three tomato squeeze packets for 20 cent each, thank you so much to him for shouting us - indeed they live up to their name, the BEST party pie at the BEST price!
So THANK YOU so much to the people of Lucky Star Bakery - including the nice friendly lady who served us whom I think is the owner and the staff and bakers - for providing Peter and I with the most incredible party pies that are value for money and fast friendly service! We both are so grateful!
So whether you are a Sandringham looking Iocal or visiting Sandringham, Peter and I very highly recommend you pay a visit to Lucky Star Bakery for your baked goods fix! It certainly deserves recognition and awards for being a tip notch bakery and if Peter and I happen to visit Sandringham again one day we definitely will visit again! They can consider us extremely happy first...
Read moreMy husband and I have been loyal customers of this business for over ten years, making a conscious effort to support a local establishment. However, today’s experience left me deeply disappointed.
When I ordered my usual Banh mi, I requested more sauce—be it aioli, mayonnaise, or even mustard—as the chicken roll is often quite dry and difficult to enjoy. I’ve made this request before and was even willing to pay extra for additional sauce and carrot. Instead of accommodating this simple request, Annie refused, saying that adding sauce would “ruin her authentic flavour.” She even suggested I take a plain chicken roll instead, which wasn’t what I wanted.
Not only was she unaccommodating, but she was also surprisingly rude. Arguing with a long-time customer over their personal food preference, especially when they are willing to pay extra, is poor customer service. This was not just disappointing—it was disrespectful.
Sadly, this experience has put an end to my support for this bakery. After years of loyalty, I won’t be returning. I’ll be looking elsewhere for food and service that values customer preferences and basic courtesy. As for the cakes—they’re ordinary at best.
Thank you, Annie, for reminding me that customer loyalty means...
Read moreBeen coming to this bakery for nearly 2 decades and it has just gone down hill on my last couple of visits. Refused to put ingredients in a sandwich because they wouldn't fit. I asked again and the reason shifted because the girl didnt have experience of making a sandwich. On the most recent visit asked for a sandwich. And just started putting ingredients i don't like in there. In addition asked for a SANDWICH. Managed to make a roll. Good way to look after return customers........clap clap
Oh yeah and any merchant who forces customers to pay extra by card, which in turn forces you to use cash is pretty irresponsible in this...
