Such a cool vibe and buzzing atmosphere for a pizza joint. Madonna Electric is out there, not only filling your sense of smell with the aroma of pizza, but a vidual feast too. The venue if fitted out with nonna’s furniture from the late Franco Cozzo, walls decorated with her kitchen plates, old school music playing in the background and the Godfather screening on her old CRT TV in the back.
From the moment we walked in we were well looked after. Service and hospitality were second to none, we were seated, drinks order taken, menu explained, what’s popular, how they do things and so on. Brilliant way to start. The menu has everything you need, from starters to obviously pizzas, desserts, aperitivi, cocktails and vino. We started with sparkling water and ordered a bottle of Lemberti Prosseco DOC for lubrication. Service was quick, and not long after ordering we were sipping on some sparkling to wash the day away.
For starters we ordered the antipasti platter and the agrodolce peppers and stracciatella. The antipasti were a good serving size, ample to graze on with some mortadella, pickles, bocconcini and grizzle on some grissini. Great start. The other starter, the peppers and stracciatella, well we didn’t know what to expect, and dayam it was stupendously tremendous. Now imagine stracciatella with burrata filling, with house roasted sweet and sour capsicums, nestled inside what we would call a bowl made of pizza crust/dough. Forget the bread on the side, the bread is the bowl. Yup, tear off some bread, dunk, tear and dunk and scoop that capsicum and cheese. It was a feast for the taste buds, and truly enjoyed every minute of it, and at that moment we through if this is how the dough/crust of the pizza will taste like then we’re in for a treat, and yes, we were.
Now when venturing out to a pizza joint we haven’t been to prior we go for the margherita so we have ground for comparison to other places, but we went against the grain as we were recommended the portobello pizza with added prosciutto, How could we resist, we couldn’t, so we ordered that, and a side leafy salad with rocket, pear and shaved parmesan. The pizza, we find it difficult to explain in words, but we will try, because it was one of the finest and tastiest thin crust pizzas we have had. We have said the same a lot about other places we have been to, but we can have more than one favorite, and this became one of them. The crust was thin, chewy, tasty, umami (cant think of more buzzwords but ), held up – structural integrity, like spank us with it! The toppings, ummm, yeh, no words needed except if you don’t order this pizza the Madonna sign at the shop front will come to life and spank you with a wooden spoon for the blasphemy you have shown. That pizza was a combo made in heaven and the side salad gave us some freshness to cut through that delectable bold and rich flavours of the pizza. Hope that explains it. Well done Madonna Electric, impressive!
We finished the night off with some dessert, and by that we mean limoncello. This pizza joint is like no other we have been to, it’s truly unique, and gave us a great dining experience. Keep doing what...
Read moreLove this place but our last experience was extremely frustrating.
We arrived and were seated at the front of the restaurant. Our waiter ran us through the menu and we ordered a bottle of wine and 2 cold entrees (Truffle salami and an antipasto). After waiting for 15 minutes, a single glass of wine was brought to the table. This was ok as we had reconsidered our original order and were happy with 2 glasses instead of the bottle. We ordered another glass of wine.
30 minutes, 3 enquiries with 2 seperate waiters and an entree later, the second glass of wine appeared.
We then received our second entree 15 minutes after our first had arrived alongside our pizzas. As always the food was fantastic.
As we finished our meal we requested a box to carry our remaining pizza with one of the waiters. 15 minutes passed as we watched that same waiter walk from the bar where the pizza boxes are stored to the front of the restaurant, passing our table 6-7 times without even a glance.
Having worked in hospitality, I understand the chaos of a short staffed shift. Everything can feel 2 steps behind and things are missed. I sympathise with the 2 waiters who were obviously stretched between taking orders, delivering food, cleaning tables and helping at the bar whilst also coordinating the flurry of uber orders that arrived between 7:30 and 8:30. With that being said the experience as a diner was subpar and again very frustrating.
In my experience, it appears as though the staff levels remain consistent regardless of the shift so I would recommend coming to ME on a Sunday or weeknight for the best experience.

Read moreGood pizza TERRIBLE service. Went for the Monday unlimited pizza deal. It’s unlimited pizza for $22.50 and you get a 90 minute seating. We barely got 1 slice of pizza every 15-20 minutes. The pizzas are good but the waitresses were walking around and the pizzas were taking ages to make. We let the waitress know when we say that we were vegetarian and she said she would let the chef know to make extra veggie pizzas. She then ignored us for the next 30 minutes. Finally after sitting there for 45 minutes, and only getting 3 slices each we asked the other waitress if we could get two slices each time. She didn’t even know we were vegetarian and said she would give us two slices. Meanwhile the table next to us has been there for 20 minutes and gotten 3 slices each already, the table on the other side of us had gotten an entire pizza (just for their table) and slices from the unlimited pizza. Other than the pizza we ordered a dip, and because we were sitting right next to the kitchen we saw it get made and then it there (waitresses walked by and even chatted to the chef) for ages until the chef stopped making pizzas and got plates to put the dip bowl on. A waste of money. Better to just...
