Mario's Pizza Pasta Ribs — Restaurant in Melbourne

Mario's pizza was a weekly regular for us for over 15 years. pizzas were consistently good , well assembled & very well cooked & full of flavour.

what has happened guys ?? we have noticed the pizzas started to get a tad ordinary about 12 months ago , giving benefit of doubt we have kept supporting & ordering pizzas & ribs on a regular occasion hoping that things would improve back to how they used to be. sorry Mario's but the last few pizzas have been very ordinary indeed. The bases have been very chewy to the point its like chewing on a baseball glove & there has been no crispiness on the bottom & the crust is even worse. The sauce has become tasteless & it seems the last few pizzas you may have run out of it..put some herbs, garlic & seasoning into it & stop being so stingy with it. also it appears the ham & other topping have been replaced with inferior cheaper type that has no taste ... & i'm sorry to tell you this but the old Mc Cains frozen supermarket pizzas tasted better that the last few we ordered.... C''mon guys put some love back into it ! Now as for the ribs. it doesn't seem they have been cooked anywhere near long enough , the fat had not even been rendered out & the meat was still as chewy & very poorly seasoned , those ribs were terrible.

we know you can do better than this & it looks as if you have gone downhill to the point where you have put profit way before quality & customer satisfaction & at least reading a few of the other reviews we are not alone in this. now as for price point , nobody will mind paying good money for a really good pizza.

Ran into the store to order some food while waiting for the last bus back to my suburb, said to the lady I only had 10 minutes and true to her word my order was wrapped and ready in 7. Ordered a small calamari expecting a little brown paper bag with 6-8 little calamari pieces. Was initially miffed at spending $14.90 but I was served a meal for a king, or a solid meal for 2 small eaters. Perfectly coated and cooked calamari rings and fries on a bed of salad. 3 generous pieces of lemon. All I could think of is those videos of Spanian trying out the local burger/fish and chip joints, "...Waaow look at this cuz, even got the little bed of salad". I'd finished it by the time I got home and was thinking the only thing I could've asked for was another container of mayo, looked in the bottom of the bag and realised it was there the whole time. I'm so used to being ripped off and served stingy portions in Melbourne that I nearly shed a tear. I could just see the whole places philosophy in that bag of calamari and chips and imagine you'd get good value whatever...

Ordered 2 pastas today for take away. Both vegetable penne pasta and mushroom and creme pasta were absolutely bland, RUBBISH no salt no flavour at all. We called them and they agreed to make another lot. We came back to pick it up and the lady who was making the pasta was so rude and was not ready to listen. She said if you need extra salt you need to clarify before you order. While leaving that lady sarcastically said that she has made the new pastas exactly same as the previous BLAND pastas. If I had to eat that same BLAND pasta why would I make an additional trip to come and grab the same BLAND pasta again.
