$200 deposit stolen.
Save your time and money - there are far better restaurant options in Melbourne that offer better food and service.
The restaurant was empty (apart from 1 seated table) and yet we had to stand and wait 5-10 minutes for our table to be prepared. The sommelier was quite patronising, especially when our table requested a wine recommendation. Food took around 45-60 minutes to arrive, despite only having 2 tables to service. It was not worth the wait, very overpriced for the quality.
The restaurant and owner also refused to honour our $200 credit, which was the only reason we decided to re-book. We were laughed and scoffed at by the Sommelier for thinking we could use our credit as it had been a year, once again showing her terrible attitude. However, we were told in a previous review response that we could "postpone (our) cancelled dinner to another evening" with no guidelines or conditions provided, hence we assumed there would be no issue when we returned to use the credit. The restaurant threatened to call the police at the end of the night (there was no aggression at all, just a civil dispute), as we tried to pay the difference of the bill instead. Which we thought was uncalled for and would take away time from law enforcement that could be better placed.
The (co)owner gave us his word that he would look into it and give us a call on Monday, which we mistakenly decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, we had to follow up several times on Tuesday and was met with more excuses and avoidance of my questioning on the validity of the written statements, which seems like it is an admission of guilt. We were finally offered a house bottle of wine as compensation for the next time we dined at the restaurant instead of the $200 - what a slap in the face! Safe to say we will never be returning.
The way they have responded to the entire situation is highly unprofessional and dishonest. Don't ignore the other low reviews, there are other restaurants that are more deserving of...
Read moreI would give negative stars if possible, but I’ll settle for an undeserving 1 star. Absolute scam - Do not go here. My fiancé and I went here to celebrate our engagement and it was empty (I now know why).
The owner did not leave us alone and listened in to our chats and gave constant unwanted comments.
My fiancé doesn’t drink yet was brought a glass of Prosecco despite us telling the owner she doesn’t drink. He said it was to celebrate our engagement and didn’t take it away. He then had the audacity to bill us $30 despite it not being drank.
The owner also asked us for some bread and olives and didn’t tell us that he would proceed to charge us a ridiculous amount for the “Crostini bread” and also a ridiculous amount for 3 inedible olives.
He asked me if I wanted a beer and I said yes and stated I wanted a simple beer like a larger. He said “Peroni” and I agreed. Not only did he not give me a drinks list with prices, he assumed that it was ok to bring me a bottle of vintage sour boutique Peroni that he billed me for $36.
The price for 2 mains of a steak (no sides or sauce), pasta (with chunks of whole chilli not able to be eaten), a glass of Prosecco (not asked for and not touched), bottle of Peroni beer (horrible vintage sour boutique in small bottle) and Crostini and olives (just sharp crackers with inedible olives) was over $250.
$250 for horrible food and horrible service from nosy owner.
I argued the price and he stood in front of door and was so rude just waving the card machine in our face.
Told me to “be a man and provide for my fiancé” when paying. Disgusting comment by him just being a con.
Will take further action.
Edit - Please note the owners reply to this review is wildly incorrect and is a futile attempt to escape the reality of his horrible service. Writes his own fake reviews to raise the rating and lure customers into a scam of a restaurant. Stay vigilant and avoid. Read all the 1 star reviews and note the systematic replies where he tries to place the blame on...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT!! As someone who works in the industry i am just appalled at the treatment I received earlier today.. I was in Woolworths at the checkout with all of my groceries when I realised I needed to do internet banking because I didn't have enough in my everyday account. So I asked a few people no luck (I had ran out of data) then I thought hey ill just ask someone from this place (Masani) and walked in I explain my situation and ask if I could please use someones internet or the wifi for 2 seconds to do internet banking and I offered to buy something if that would help but nooo this old man comes up and practically shoos me away like im asking for loose change or something I told him its only 2 minutes and ill buy something I am literally shaking from anger later on I went to write down the name of this place and he comes outside trying to intimidate me saying what are you doing are you going to write a review yelling at me! I told him yes and its a free country ill do what I like and also it isn't hard just to be a decent human being! DISGUSTING!! I would rather die than ever step place in your restaurant other than to get the police and bring them with me and tell them how your manager or whoever the hell he is likes to abuse girls who ask for a tiny bit of help. If the owner sees this and isn't who I am talking about you should seriously fire that guy he will cost you a lot of business. I will be telling every single person I know of what happened to me there today and I won't stop there I will post everywhere on social media I will put your name to shame you people don't know what manners are do you well I guess you need to learn sometime let this be a...
