I am a huge maccas fan. Unfortunately the Glen Waverley store is my local McDonald's restaurant. I now go a little further if I have the choice as they are not the best, but the worst McDonald's on a consistent basis in my experience. Time and time again they make order mistakes; wether in drive through, using the app to pre order then pick up, and also in store. I have not had one visit out of the last 6 times I've spent my money and ordered at this particular McDonald's that has been without mistakes or issue. Missing fries, no drinks or wrong number of drinks and even wrong drinks, burgers cold and wraps incorrectly supplied. No toys in happy meals - the worst-, no bonus points on my app for my free coffee rewards incentive... Even missing food including almost $10 worth of dessert pies. I also recently sat at one of the drive through speakers waiting to order at a busy (dinner) time and was ignored for a lmost 10 mins while customers at the speaker beside me continued to be served and cars behind me tooted & got upset and frustrated at me! Finally I just drove to the "pay" window and after reporting the issue, the staff member told me their speaker / comms system had been playing up a little - no apology - then asked if I wanted to order still or not. I should add that I ordered 3 pies with full meals at that time, got home and realised that all 3 pies were paid for but missing. I have taken up issues with staff - including going back around drive through straight away to redeem my missing but paid for items and some have undertaken to amend situations, for example no bonus points recieved as they should be automatically when coffee purchased via my app that was activated. I've taken their names, flowed up with the managers and those staff members (in some cases tried to but got nowhere) to no avail other than wasting my time & getting even more mad and frustrated. Their staff seem unfriendly, unprofessional & matter of fact almost to the point of blatent rudeness and present as very badly trained or just careless & inept at their jobs. Some present as bored at times. I'd recomend people think twice about choosing that particular store, which I understand is disappointing, and if they still prefer to eat McDonald's then head to Mulgrave (top service store & always speedy), Vermont South (more expensive than most local maccas stores but closer and better service than GW) or Burwood (better in store than drive through and always efficient & clean). Blackburn is actually a little further but a fantastic store, I have to say they would be my choice of all those just mentioned due to their caring and hard working staff, especially the managers. Depending on the direction in which patrons are travelling, I'd expect they'd appreciate a much superior experience at any of those stores close to Glen Waverley that I mentioned and I can vouch are definitely better in service and supply all round. If the service and staff amend thair carefree ways and decide to take their store, their customers and their customers time & money a little more seriously , I will amend & /or add to my comments here today. This was written as an honest reflection of my experiences over the last 12 months visiting that...
Read moreI’ve ordered from this McDonald’s for the last 7 years and in the last 3 this place has been consistently the worst fast food experience I’ve ever had. They’re food is always messily made and poorly packaged, the only thing you can say they do right is get the order to you fast. Their employers never seem to care about what the consumer wants and clearly don’t want to be there, which is understandable but makes for a dreadful experience. The screens used to order never seem to work (but thats just a McDonald’s thing I’ve found). Some of my recent experiences include:
Ordering a monopoly bundle and only received 5 out of the 7 stickers because the chips didn’t have any on them.
Ordered a barbecue beef burger where the burger was impossible to hold because the only thing inside of it was barbecue sauce
Ordered a happy meal and got a toy from a 2 month old promotion, that same happy meal also had the entire bottom covered in a sweet sticky paste, which would’ve been forgivable if the chips were in a bag like they’re meant to be, the bag was there but the chips were all over the place making almost all of them inedible.
I ordered a Mc spicy and the buns were different sizes
On multiple occasions I’ve ordered a McFlurry off of Uber and they give you the entire order but no McFlurry with no explanation. This is unforgivable I’ve worked in fast food, when someone orders an Uber order it shows up on a tablet, and you have to manually accept it, if you don’t have something you should either decline the order or call up the customer and let them know, possibly ask if they’d like anything else as a replacement.
These all are experiences from the last 3 months (yes I’m aware I eat a lot of McDonald’s)
I have also never once had a chocolate shake from here that didn’t taste like thick milk.
I’ve begun using the McDonald’s in Mount Waverley because this place is the definition...
Read morewith the intention of congratulating my friends for a job well done for their exam, i walked to maccas to get six soft serve cones. cause i had to walk back to school, i know carrying cones wasnt a smart choice, so i asked the employee if i could have them in cups. she said it was possible so i paid for the ice creams.
instead of some form of cup, they came out carrying ice creams in frozen cup lids (the ones with the serrated circle tops to insert straws). so i asked if she could just store them all in a cup instead. i felt awkward asking that as i knew she tried her best to accomodate my needs. she went to the back to ask someone if it was possible but came out telling me it wasnt. i was dissatisfied but i tried to work around it as i walked back to school.
however, the ice cream had already started to begin leaking through the straw holes, this left trails of melted ice cream on the ground. i left them on a table so we could eat it, however the melted ice cream from the leak left a huge puddle behind.
i wouldnt have been unhappy if they could just tell me my request wasnt possible cause they didnt have a cup for that, etc. instead they made little to no effort in satisfying my order. as someone who works in hospitality (as a server), this is never a way to serve a customer.
maccas needs to understand when they can or cannot take orders. situations like this creates the image of bad customer service for such a...
