I have never left an unfavourable review but last nights experience warrants strong feedback.
Firstly, my wife got violently ill after the meal and we had nothing else to eat that afternoon/evening which leads me to believe that the food poisoning came from this restaurant. And we only ate cooked food from the menu. Unfortunately for my wife, she’s still vomiting and suffering from fever and stomach cramps.
Secondly, it’s clear that the new staff are struggling, some menu items were not available at the start of the night. We could overhear kitchen staff asking if other foods were still available- they need to be aware that patrons can hear them and most likely understand them as there are plenty of Vietnamese speaking people in the area.
Thirdly, staff need to know how to safely operate the bbq. One of staff tried lighting the bbq on the table next to us, I’m not sure what happened but it resulted in an extremely loud explosion. There was a young family of 4 sitting at the table, obviously shaken up and worried enough to get off table while the second attempt at lighting the bbq was being made. The staff member said something to the effect of “sorry sorry, too much gas, sorry I scare you”.
I understand it’s important to support local eateries but they need to be safe and inviting. We won’t be coming...
Read moreMonster BBQ & Chicken in Maribyrnong offers a delightful Korean BBQ experience, praised for its fresh meats and flavorful side dishes. The BBQ sets are a great option, providing a selection of cuts like pork belly, beef bulgogi, and wagyu, all paired with rice and traditional Korean sides (banchan). Many diners appreciate the variety of small side dishes that come with the meal combos, adding extra flavor to the overall experience. The grilled chicken, in particular, stands out for being juicy and well-seasoned, a favorite among patrons.
The restaurant’s fried chicken, available in different flavors such as soy garlic and hot & spicy, also receives high marks. One unique offering is the “Bburinkle” chicken, which is coated in a cheese, onion, and garlic powder. Customers have noted that the service is friendly and efficient, and the restaurant maintains a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
Whether you dine in for lunch specials or opt for the BBQ sets, the quality of both the meat and the overall experience seems to make this a...
Read moreOwners have changed to Vietnamese, is this an issue? No it shouldn't be, but in this situation is has its compounding effects.
Food quality is on a downwards trend and service has tanked.
The sides took time to come out and the bbq meats which is basically frozen came out after the hot meals...
Had to go up to the counter to get sides...appears to be avoiding offers at table side, which lets be straight out is a money saving ploy, and yes owners you may not see it this way but its the way the customer sees it.
Sauce quantity was dismal.
The service really sucked at no point in time did staff even come to see how things were going, if staff checked in they could've dealt the issue with sauce and sides.
I don't appreciate staff cooking the food because they do it in such a way that saves them from cleaning duties so I never let them cook as it just looks like steamed flesh.
Get organised, have your sound system up and running before open and keep that static away, organise the way food comes out and have...
