Mrs. Fields Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

Truly appalled by the service. We ordered a bag of the mini cookies from Mrs fields today because we felt like a sweet treat and the staff member not only gave our bag of cookies to the wrong person whilst we’re standing in front of her, she also ran after the person and tried to give us the same bag cookies the person mistakenly took. What if that person had Covid 19 and what if they had eaten some of it… you can’t do that. She kept insisting that they were fine and fresh even though it was the exact bag she had retrieved from the wrong customer. She also yelled at the other staff member for a mistake she made.

After walking past we saw her putting the same bag of cookie on the tray to sell again to other unsuspecting customers. Truly...

Honestly I don't know where these 5 star reviews have come from, this place is far from 5 star. 3 times I have visited (out of convenience) and 3 times I have been told that the items I have requested (from the menu) were not available. Never asked for anything off menu, just simple things that were clearly written on the menu above the stall, i.e. Raisin toast with butter, Croque monsieur - to which the guy said "I can do you a cheese and ham toastie instead?" Which ended up being the most drab, flat, sad toastie I have ever had the privilege to snack on. The coffee is all kinds of wrong, I won't even get into it. But no, no this is not a 5 star place. Even though the food here is great and the coffee is amazing, I've noticed a few areas that could use some improvement. I've been here many times and observed that the area around the juicer seems a bit unhygienic. The juicer often appears to be broken, with the staff frequently rushing to fix it. Additionally, the staff seems quite busy and doesn't wear gloves while serving ice cream, which generally is melted or soggy. It looks like the staff is struggling to manage both the cafe and the ice cream shop, with just three people working. I feel for them and hope these issues can be addressed to make the experience...
