Read moreWe went to New Kum Den BBQ last night and had terrible service and really average food. There was one other person in the restaurant when we arrived, and a number of wait staff who were totally oblivious. Nobody had any interest in taking our order and we had to make eye contact and call a waiter over a number of times, just to actually get served..
A couple of groups arrived and had obviously pre-ordered, perhaps as part of some package deal or something? They had received half their food before we were even able to order, and they were on to their dessert before our food arrived. We ordered some prawn crackers while we were waiting for our food, and they were totally stale.
A waiter took our teapot away, presumably to refill it, and never brought it back until we repeatedly asked (before our food had arrived.. ).
When our food finally arrived we were not given bowls, and again had to request this from staff who were totally uninterested and appeared to not realize that you need crockery in order to eat.
The food was really average and totally overpriced for what it was. We will absolutely not be going back, there are so many other great restaurants so close by, this whole experience was really disappointing and the totally uninterested and borderline rude service made me really resent even setting foot...
Read moreWe had the same experience today at lunch as Allie's review. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is the food was actually tasty - although cold. A very disappointing experience all due to rude and disinterested staff. After three requests for wine glasses, we went up to the counter ourselves and asked a fourth time and finally got them half an hour after being seated, 3 more requests for soy sauce for the kids rice - which never arrived before the rice was finished. They tried to bring all the entree's and mains out at once before we stopped them (simply so they could concentrate on the tour groups that had just walked in). When we asked the waitress not to bring mains out until after we finished our entree's she argued that this was the "Chinese" way. When everyone else had left the restaurant, the waitress tried to make amends by apologising and giving us all a free beer - nice gesture but didn't make up for the rudeness earlier or for ruining our lunch all due to poor service. Will not...
