First off, I've been a customer to this shop even before Covid, felt needed to leave this review due to behaviour of 'one' staff (reason being, reputation of a business is dependent on staff who works). Came with my partner, ordered: Soy Flat White & Weak Soy Latte. When this staff repeat the order, she said 2 x Soy Flat White, so we corrected her and said, no, it's 2 Soy, but one is Flat White and the other one is Latte but weak/half strength. However, she has printed the receipt and she just scribbled something on it.
So, we of course we don't care & just waited. When the coffee done, she called out "Weak Flat White and Latte" At this point we come to the counter and said, it's wrong. So she shows us the receipt printed where it says both Flat White; we thought she had scribble something on it due to the earlier mistake punching through the order.
Here's why we wanted to leave this review: When we pointed that out, she crumpled the receipt in front of us and just swapped the two coffee and said "This one is weak and this one is not, both is Soy!" And then she added "They all are the same milk!"
Man.... not one to complain but why do this. Hope the owner would see this and gave this staff (she is of asian appearance, and we ordered today, Friday, 9 Aug at 2.30pm)
I'm a manager of retail chain myself, and the reputation of company could be ruin by behaviour of "one staff" who is complacent with couldn't-care-less attitude.
Coffee are different (hence Latte, Cappuccino, Flat White, etc) otherwise we all just say "one coffee!" When we ordered. When you make mistake, twice, it cost you nothing to remedy, but it shows customer, you responsible and will give customers what they asked "paid" for.
To not accept this mistake, but giving us "paying customer" attitude of saying that there's no mistake and just crumpling up the receipt and just swap the coffee in front of us and says it's all good. Everybody make mistakes, but attitude, especially bad one, left lasting remarks.
Will be getting coffee elsewhere...

Read moreThe best Latte. Baby black is a little bit over souTucked away on a quiet Melbourne lane, I stumbled upon The League of Honest Coffee. Let me tell you, the name is spot on. This place is a haven for any serious coffee lover.
The cafe itself is small and inviting. There's a warm buzz to it, with people chatting over steaming mugs and the rhythmic hiss of the espresso machine. I snagged a spot at the communal table, perfect for watching the baristas work their magic. They weren't just pulling shots, they were crafting beverages. Every cup seemed like a work of art, and they were happy to answer my endless questions about the beans and brewing methods.
Speaking of beans, their selection was incredible! Single-origin options from all over the world, with detailed tasting notes to help you choose. I went for a pour-over from Ethiopia, and it was a revelation. The aroma was intoxicating, and the flavor exploded with floral and citrusy notes. It was honestly the best cup of coffee I'd ever had.
They have a small food menu too, with fresh pastries and simple sandwiches. I grabbed a bacon and egg roll, which was delicious, but let's be real, the coffee is the star here.
The League of Honest Coffee is more than just a cafe; it's a coffee experience. From the knowledgeable staff to the incredible beans, it's clear they're passionate about what they do. If you're in Melbourne and looking for a serious coffee fix, this is the place to go. Just be prepared to have your expectations blown away.r for me, but the smell...
