Noodle Box Altona — Restaurant in Melbourne

A friend and I went here tonight and it was by far one of the most stressful experiences I have experienced in a take away restaurant.

We ordered the special $9.95 Noodle Box App Special which we needed to make a membership to claim.

After joining, the app refused to accept the unique barcode. No problem. Not the staffs fault. We attempted to ask staff for assistance and they completely ignored us. We stood around, waiting to be served, while every customer after us was served.

When we were finally attended too, we explained the situation, and the staff said they couldn’t help us. Fair - they didn’t make the app. However, they didn’t offer to try to remediate the issue in any way, despite the meal sitting right beside them - boxed up and ready to go.

We ended up ordering one box at full price, and it was absolutely disgusting - bland, oily, and horrible. Once we got home, we actually had to pour the contents into a pan and add additional ingredients to make it somewhat edible.

If you can, avoid this place and ABSOLUTELY avoid any app special to save...

KITCHEN IS NOT HALAL The first time I went there, I asked if the chicken was halal, and they said yes. Therefore, I was confident in eating halal food. Last week I went again and I wanted to double check if the kitchen was also halal because I was forgetting to ask and its been on my mind. I asked if the kitchen is halal or if they use the same utensils for pork as the other proteins. They gave me a bad facial expression, as if I were saying something bad, and said, "yeah!! but you always come here." I said, "Yes, I do, but you never said it was not halal." Then he mentioned that all Lebanese people go there and no one cares. I replied, "no, they do care but they wouldn't know if its not halal if you didn't mention that you cross-contaminate." He then said he could use the bottom oil, and I made sure he wouldn't mix utensils with the pork.

This is not good enough!!! Asking if the chicken is halal is also asking if you cross-contaminate food that you know people cannot eat.

I will never be going...

Ordered 2x build your own boxes, was told I could add 5 veg but was never told bean shoots were extra. The bean shoots weren't fresh so I didn't want to pay extra for them so asked to remove them from my order and the lady yelled at me "WELL I CAN'T CHANGE ANYTHING NOW SO I WILL HAVE TO CANCEL IT AND DO IT AGAIN" I hadn't paid yet so shouldn't have been such an inconvenience. Anyway I get back to the car to wait and see she didn't add garlic so I called and said she didn't put garlic back on the order and how she was so rude to me and he said "Yes she was rude because you kept picking and picking items" It's literally an item on the menu to be able to build your own box??? How could I have done that without picking which...
