Four and a half stars from me - but there's no option to give a half star and I don't want to be mean.
We were recommended by a friend and we weren't disappointed.
Fantastic - one of the best cafés in the area. The menu is a tad heavy on breakfast items but that aside it's an interesting and inventive selection. We had the pulled pork burger - it was an orgy of taste, although forget being able to pick it up and eat it like a regular burger - this baby needs a knife and fork.
The coffee (long black) was one of the best I've had recently: rich and smooth with a hint of bitterness. It had a perfect chocolate brown crema on top.
Some of the reviews grumble about the size of the place, however, I think it just adds to the charm and there is as much seating as you'd find in many city joints. Possibly country folk aren't used to small places?

Read moreThis is what Melbourne does best. A blend of culinary flavors. And this dish from One Fine Day @ Beaconsfield has exemplified that. The cumin and beetroot fritters is packed with flavors that reminds of my the days I spent in India sampling roadside snacks. Smothered with yogurt and served on a bed of grains and barley. Somewhere buried under the coat of yogurt lies two perfectly poached eggs. Absolutely yum.
Coffee is a little inconsistent but don't let that deter you from dining here. You'll be surprised at that size of the small kitchen that churns out amazing food!
The outdoor dining area has a nice ambience with overhead heater for...
