Remember when you were a kid, and Mum said “We’re having pizza for dinner!” And you were excited because you could have your own whole pizza with whatever you wanted on it? 30 mins later you get your pizza and oh man, it’s hot and greasy and tastes amazing. Then the next morning you could have leftover pizza for breakfast, maybe even lunch if you stole some leftover Hawaiian from your sister’s box.
You didn’t realise this because you were just a kid, but the reason you got your whole pizza was because it was from the cheap pizza shop and all the ingredients pretty much taste the same. So your parents could afford to get you all your own pizza.
These days “fancy” pizzas cost $25+ and most are average at best.
Papa Giuseppe isn’t aiming to be fancy. It’s the cheap pizza shop your parents went to when you were a kid. Perfectly average in every way and it’s brilliant.
