Nord — Local services in Melbourne

Moved into this apartment complex a few months back and absolutely love the NORD building, its staff and the North Melbourne area. I love the beautiful rooftop NORD has and it’s wonderful city views, was absolutely excellent for New Years Eve viewing the fireworks. The maintenance people are great, always have a smile on their face and will always work hard to make the place look great, the place is always clean especially in light of the covid 19 crisis! The maintenance and concierge staff all take great effort to ensure all things are wiped down and sanitised as frequently as possible. Ben is so cheerful and says good morning everyday without fail and always makes sure to notify me of important updates, and is always there to lend a helping hand. You can tell he takes pride in his work. I also love their new addition Lidia, she is equally as cheerful and helped me get back to my floor last Saturday when silly me forgot my keys up in my apartment. Pros: The concierge service is great. Cons: The double glazing is for insulation, not noise, which means you get a lot of tram noise. The sound insulation between floors is also pretty bad and most apartments have floorboards, so the sound of your upstairs neighbours sliding their dining chairs in and out travels straight down. And if the kids upstairs like to bounce their ball around, you'll know about it.

Also they have installed half-height drawer-style dishwashers which can only take really small loads. This might be suitable for 1 or 2 people, but is challenging for a family.

The hot water takes forever to run through the pipes so make sure you leave the tap open and running in the shower while you clean your teeth, otherwise you'll be standing under cold water for a few minutes. Such a waste of water too.

My family and I love living at Nord apartments. Our lifestyle manager Ben is amazing.

I am grateful to Ben for being such a wonderful person. Ben is professional and responds to any query with care and tries to solve any problem. Ben really cares about us, the tenants, our safety and always provides an outstanding service.

Ben makes us feel welcome and we feel that we belong to a little community that is our building (we know so many people and say hello in the elevator and/or in the hallway). This is all thanks to Ben, because he makes our place feel relaxed, but vigilant, caring, respectful and safe.

Ben always makes sure that we all do the right thing. If we do not, Ben will remind us kindly about current rules and procedures, so that we can all be safe.
