Royal Park Nature Play Playground is an absolute gem for families looking for outdoor fun. The playground is packed with obstacle courses that both kids and parents can enjoy together. It's a great place for kids to burn off energy and explore.
A highlight for many is the water fountain, which is a big hit with children—just don’t forget to bring extra clothes if they plan to splash around! That said, there isn’t much shade, so be sure to come prepared with hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water. For a more comfortable experience, visiting in the late evening is a smart choice to avoid the heat.
If you're planning a family BBQ, you're in luck. The playground is equipped with several BBQ facilities, making it a perfect spot for a full day of fun and relaxation.
Overall, it’s a wonderful destination for a family outing, combining active play with opportunities to unwind and...

Lots of unique experiences including a fair sized water play feature, several slides for varying degrees of brave kids, many swings, climbing frames and even a large hill with a good view to the city and a decent distance to roll down. Other facilities include drinking fountain and BBQ. Being next to open parkland includes the opportunity to kick a ball not even fly kites as we saw others do on the day we went. There is also a small copse of trees for hide and seek, or imaginative play. Next to hospital and accessible by tram. Parking next to the park is a mixture of metered parking and 30 minute and 2 hr unmetered parking, but a short walk north along Gatehouse Dve is 4 hour...
