I ordered a flat white and waited. And waited. Surprised by the delay, I peeked into the cafe to see what was taking so long. I saw some people who had arrived after me get their coffees and head out. Even more puzzled, I wondered if my order had been misplaced. I stepped inside to ask. I saw four takeaway coffee cups on the counter being made and filled and then set aside in a group. I stepped back out for a moment as other people made their way out the exit. Then one of the staff picked up a tray, loaded the coffees on a tray and started handing them out to the people waiting outside including me. ā€œFlat white…..flat white…..ā€ Relieved, I grabbed mine and started to walk briskly to the hospital to make an appointment on time. I took a sip around the corner and realised with outrage and a sinking disappointment that my coffee was lukewarm. From sitting on the counter until the other three flat whites which the three other people behind me had clearly ordered had been made just so they could take out all four cups out at once the five or so steps outside.

I don’t know who that barista or server was but they had committed a coffee crime in my eyes.

The pastries were pretty good but didn’t make up for the offence of trying to save what exactly? Time? Trying to be more efficient? Kill 4 coffees off in one blow? Saving the server their rubber soles from wear?

Yeah no. I’ll go to a cafe that aims to deliver a hot coffee as it’s made for each...

Thank God I came across this bakery! Ordered the egg salad sandwich, sticky bun and fruit danish. The sandwich was insanely delicious, loved itā¤ļø long queue and not much dine-in space, but there’s a lawn nearby where you can enjoy them under the sunā˜€ļø

23.08.2025, Second visit today This spot is super worth it. $33 got me a sandwich, bread, a donut and coffee. The coffee was smooth espresso with berry notes and a hint of wine. Last but not least, always busy, but staffs were all really nicešŸ‘šŸ¼

07.09.2025, Third visit today Got the weekly special: pecan pie! Absolutely delicious, and everything else is still phenomenal 🄹. This time, I spent $54 on two sandwiches, a strawberry danish, the weekly special pecan pie, and a mochaā˜•ļø

14.09.2025, Fourth visit today Luckily, I got the last egg salad sandwich. Today, I tried the peanut & dulce de leche Suisse and it is absolutely amazing 🄰 What a wonderful indulgence! Ohh, and both of the chocolate donuts aren’t too sweet! ā€œNot too sweetā€ is the best compliment from Asians when it comes to pastries.

20.09.2025, Fifth visit today Pretty sure I’ve found my go to order. Got the same thing again. It’s always busy, but the staff are super nice and welcoming every time.

I think I’ll keep discovering nice things here. Hopefully one day you’ll release some Bread Club merch! I’ll definitely keep coming back and recommending you to others (hopefully I can still get my...

I’ve saved this place for a few years now and I finally got to try it.

I tried the dark chocolate chip cookie with sea salt and also the toffee scroll.

One bite into the chocolate chip cookie and the rich and bitter taste of dark chocolate coats my mouth. The outer layer of the cookie is crispy while the inner part is chewy. I can’t imagine how good it will taste fresh out the oven.

The toffee scroll was recommended by the person taking my order. The bread is a tad bit dry but it could also be because of the timing that I went. It wasn’t too sweet which always wins plus points for me. The walnuts are crispy, and the bread itself has some savoury notes to it. The cream on top saves the bread as the light sweetness and the moistness from it complements the dryness and savouriness of the bread.

I would not say that I would crave these, but it’s well made pastries that won’t go wrong.

I also would like to add that I found a reaaaaaaaaally small strand of hair in the cream (listed in the last photo). I understand accidents happen and you guys probably uphold sanitation in the kitchen. I’ll let it slide because the pastries were good....

Like many others I stumbled upon this bakery while walking the streets and had a craving for a croissant. Boy oh boy… This was my lucky day. I have a proclivity towards almond croissants. Don’t judge me, I realize these are day old and twice baked, but I love the almond filling. It gets me every time. At Bread Club, my croissant was twice baked maybe 1 min too long as it was burnt and crunchy like a good sausage roll and I hope to god this was on purpose because holy hell what an experience. I think one of the best croissants I’ve ever had. Period. I had flakey crumbs everywhere, it was crunchy, the filling sweet but more on the savory side and because it was slightly burnt it had that almost caramelized smoky taste. This was life changing. I ate it on the street staring into the next dimension as life passed me by. When I’m in Melbourne next, I will most definitely be returning and I will update this review. My hope is that somebody real realizes just how good the slightly burnt croissants are and that this has been a direction from the kitchen and not an accidental mistake. 10/10 šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„
