Limerick Castle Hotel — Restaurant in Melbourne

Visited this bar several times this week to experience a real Melbourne bar, as opposed to those pandering to tourists. Every time I’ve walked through the door I was made welcome. All the staff are fantastic, the beer is great, especially at happy hour, the food was tasty and good value, and I even enjoyed the quiz night even though I didn’t have a clue about most questions. Oh and I forgot to mention the locals. Without exception I was made to feel at home. This is an old school North Melbourne pub. If you don't understand what that means then stay away - the reviews of this joint from people who just don't get it are priceless. Super friendly staff, pubtab in the front bar, wall of remembrance for fallen regulars, a top little beer garden and an outdoor perch at the front where you can sit, smoke and watch the world go by. Reminds me of Collingwood / Abbotsford pubs I frequented in my 20s - 40s before they lost their souls or closed down. Good honest food and cold...

Great pub - fantastic burgers!

As a north Melbourne local we love this place, an authentic Melbourne pub that hasn’t lost it’s sense of self. The walls have plenty of NM Football posters and the AFL is played on the TV but I wouldn’t call this a fotty pub. It’s simply a classic Melbourne pub that’s definitely worth a look.

They still have a traditional menu but the main menu is Easy’s burgers. It’s super tasty and great value. Everything is with trying, we love it...
