I recently visited The Bank, a unique restaurant and pub transformed from an old bank building, offering a truly distinctive dining experience. The venue features multiple rooms with various types of seating, adding to its charm and appeal. I visited with my partner and sister for drinks and snacks. The beer selection was excellent, offering a wide range of options. We also tried the polenta fries, which were absolutely fabulous, complemented perfectly by the delicious black garlic aioli. Overall, The Bank provides a memorable and enjoyable experience with its unique setting, great drinks, and tasty food. Highly recommended for a distinctive night out.

There is a lot to like at The Bank in Carnegie. There are a few different areas to seat yourself, depending on what vibe you're looking for: a front bar with music playing and sport on the telly, a couple of dimly lit dining rooms for ambience, and outdoor areas on either side of the building out back. They have a great meal deal which we took full advantage of: 2 entrees and a medium plate for $50. The gnocchi - with broccoli, whipped feta and candied walnuts - was some of the best I've had.

The Bank is a great pub and the one thing Carnegie has been screaming out for; now we have one. The beer selection is not exhaustive but covers all tastes. The service is always prompt, at a high quality and delivered with a smile. It reminds me of a UK pub where the punters know the people who work there. It has great indoor and outdoor options and maintenances a buzz at most times. They also cover events and have a separate pub linked to the garden areas to facilitate events.

Visited on Weds for the $25 steak special. Unfortunately, we were not met with an appropriate level of service. It is rare that I feel uncomfortable as a customer. First time here, walked through the main door, waited to be greeted and taken to my seat. No one came for 5mins and I was making eye contact with staff at the bar. They were initially busy serving drinks and once they were free, all 3 staff proceeded to make eye contact with me several times and kept talking amongst themselves. After some time, I eventually walked to the bar to mention I have a booking... Someone could have at least greeted and to tell me to come to the bar instead of ignore me when I'm clearly waiting. I don't expect over the top service, just the basics which weren't achieved. Then when our food came, my friend accidentally ordered it to the table right next to ours and the waiter scolded my friend. Was a small error on our part and not the end of the world. Steak was still good value and tender. Not sure if the value is worth a...

We walked in and thought the fit-out of the place was quite cool. Nice and open. We noticed about 6 staff standing behind the bar chatting amongst themselves. We stood waiting for someone to greet us and show us to our reserved table. No one approached us. We went to the bar and waited for the staff to stop chatting before attending to us. Someone pointed out our table and we went and sat down. No one told us we had to grab a menu from the bar and place our order at the bar. We quickly figured out the process. We ordered drinks and food. My friends meal came out 10 minutes before mine and no drinks to be seen even though I counted about 8 staff all standing around chatting. My meal eventually came but still no drinks to be seen. We almost finished our meals when the drinks arrived. The food was pretty average but better than the service which was less than average! You didn’t really impress us and we...

We came to celebrate a 70th birthday and sadly left very disappointed. We were seated in the Pavilion, but there was barely any cutlery, no serviettes, and no small plates provided for the many entrées we ordered. Service was poor – it felt as though staff had forgotten we were out there, as barely any staff came to check on us during the meal. When our mains arrived, the music was abruptly turned off and we ended up eating in silence. Even after we asked for it to be turned back on, nothing happened, leaving the atmosphere flat and uninviting.

The food itself was average at best. Most meals only came with chips and small choice of sides, which felt very limited. The calamari was undercooked and rubbery, while the steak arrived cold. For what should have been a special celebration, the whole experience was really underwhelming – unfortunately, we may as well have just...
