A couple of the staff can be very rude. Brought my plates in one day because it started pouring down and really windy and when I handed it to them they said “maybe just leave it outside next time” with attitude. I was just trying to be helpful and he made me feel tiny which I didn’t love. It says “½ and avocado” on the menu as an extra and yet every time I order it they bring you 1/4. I’m fine with the amount but it’s the principle of lying and also paying $24 per full avocado, literally just ripping off loyal customers. Last time I specifically asked to make sure ½ an avocado comes out so me and my friend could share it and 1/4 still came out. Amount of bacon they’ve been giving recently (old photo) for $6 compared to other places also a bit rude. The best coffee in town though, so worth it for that, though prices have gone up recently. Great food options and well presented food in a nice atmosphere.

Pepper makes a very very good Almond Mocha. It's a rich and intense coffee taste. The brand they use is "Reverence" and the blend is "Night Vision". Their carrot cake and orange almond cake are nice. We shared a breakfast item for $24. It came with tasty bacon, eggs your way, toast, delicious chicken sausage, mushrooms, rosti, grilled tomato and spinach. We asked for a side order of smoked salmon for $5. The only thing is that I wished they could give us 2 slices of toast instead of just 1 slice and a full chicken sausage, not a sausage that had been halved lengthwise. Other than that, all good.

We had breakfast here for Melbourne Cup, highly recommended by a neighbour. The place is located in a Art Deco Building and the waiter explained that “Hygenic Library” on the door comes from Spanish Flue Era, where each book was sanitised upon return. Considering that the owners follow the Covid Safe rules (strange to write such a comment in a review, but this is a plus), this is a perfect location for a coffee during Covid-19 Era! Great cappuccino and location. Will come back here soon

Love this place, the staff and vibe of the place is great, but I am so sad about the lack of vegan stuff, and taking some of it off the menu. There used to be more vegan slices too, but they seem to be getting more dairy options. I have spoken to the lovely barista girl a few times and she has said she is trying to talk to management about it a few times. I have been going here for a while know a lot of other vegans want more options. They even had a mushroom soup, but unfortunately it had chicken stock in it :( I will continue to go here as it is still a great cafe! It also seems like they are getting rid of their beautiful coloured cups. Again, love this place just wish it had more options for...

Always busy but service is usually quick, coffee is consistently good, food also. Service can be a mix of really friendly to unfriendly and sometimes you get a feel that it's a place that takes a while to warm to new comers and can be a bit stuck up. Pizza/ pasta nights are cosy and simple. A sweet diner date. Good selection and probably a little bit for the melbourne hipster. It's a safe choice to get a lunch but I also find the people a bit fake and the place a little dry and on the personality front. I used to live two doors down and although it's a regular meet up spot, I really wanted another local to go to that offers more of that...
