Nothing but the best to say about this place. Ron is the friendliest person you could ever meet and I can safely say these are the best fish and chips I have tried in Victoria, no doubt. I ordered a flake with chips and a drink and 2 potato cakes. The batter on the flake and the potato cakes was inexplicably delicious. If you are anywhere near Ringwood, Victoria, this place is a must visit. And the prices are worth every single cent you spend here. Honestly this meal I got (with a drink) was just $17.80 and is easily shareable between two people. I wouldn’t share though because it’s that good! Thanks so much for the amazing hospitality and tasty food! Can’t wait to come back. Cheers. Anu

I stopped by this restaurant after my toddler got super hungry post-swim and couldn’t wait to eat at home. I ordered the fish and chips, and I was really impressed! The fish was fresh, crispy, and perfectly cooked—just the right amount of seasoning, not too salty. The service was also exceptional. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and top-notch service! As an Asian, I can say that I felt completely comfortable here. The atmosphere was welcoming, and I didn't feel out of place at all. It's a great spot for everyone, regardless of background!

Went here a few weeks ago, got the twin fish pack, one fried one battered. Everything on the order was flawless, well worth the drive past another 4 local fish and chip shops. Going to try something extra on the order next time, some interesting items to be had. Oh, and the owner and young lady are very pleasant. Update June 19 2022 The owner suggested I try a battered dim sim, said they are quite a popular item. Ok, well I'm game so got one and ..... YES ..... it's an upmarket dimmy with a crunchy skin. Get one (or two) - it's worth it!

Terrible experience. I can't believe so many people wrote good reviews. The bloke cooking/owner i guess was friendly, but he was crook wipping his nose on his sleeve continuously whilst cooking, the shopp was grubby, and the food was terrible. I also had a smashed potato given to me for free and it was crap. Really bad experience. Worst fish and chip shop ive ever been to and im 56yo. To the owner, before you get all defensive like you do when someone doesn't write what you like, you really should get out of the food industry because you have no hospitality skills at all ,your shop is grubby, your grubby and you cant cook, your oil was old too. That's why your fried food is so dark. My 87 year old mum lives down the road. We tried your food. Dont get all saulky and defensive with me i worked in restaurant kitchens for 10 years. Quality kitchens. Get out of the game is my advice. Try another line of work. I know this will hurt you but its the truth. Best wishes . You seem like...

You know that sick feeling after you eat fish and chips and an excess of deep fried food? Well that's not something I've ever felt after having anything from Pier 50. I noted upon coming in that this place does not smell like your local typical fish and chippery. You don't leave stinking like stale oil after spending 5 minutes in the store. Upon chatting with Ron I learnt that this was due to his oil filtration technique (between each fry) and ensuring freshly deep fried goodies have ample time to drip dry. The last time I recall anything being so freshly fried was back in Japan having tempura. To top it all off Ron is a great guy, honest to goodness local business owner which tops this all off. Couldn't recommend Pier 50 more and is our go to for fish and chips. P.S. Bacon potato cakes and home made fish cakes are to die for, be sure to...

First time posting for this retail shop, I ordered a hamburger šŸ” with the lot and 3 potato cakes. I just want to say the potato cakes are the best I've had in a long time. I have tried 5 different fish and chip shops since we move into the area and hands down the best potato cakes in the area, soft crispy outside and plenty of potato on the inside. I will be back. OK so I have been back twice now first time to have the smashed potato cakes (Onion flavour) with gravy very nice must try. Second time smashed Potato cakes with bacon šŸ„“ again very nice must try. Also the Hawaiian Hamburger šŸ” very nice. Had to have the standard potato cakes with chicken salt šŸ§‚. Great food all round and reasonably priced....
