Pizza d'Asporto has been our go-to pizzeria for quite a few years now, and it's one of only a handful of places that do both 'pizza bianca' and potato topping options which is a big plus for us.

On our last visit we got the Pancetta and the Mare e Monte - both were tasty, and the chilli oil is a favourite. Though for the premium pricing ($50 for 2 pizzas), a little more topping would go down a treat.

The only difficulty we find with getting takeout from here is that the food seems to go cold quite quickly - we don't live far away, but we've learnt to stick the oven on before we collect the pizzas and stick them in for 5 minutes to heat them up. Same with the patatine fritte (or thick cut chips - which are super tasty) - in the restaurant they always come out hot and crispy but need 5-10mins in the oven if getting takeout). Not a big drama with an easy resolution, and not enough to mark it down, as there's never been any issues when dining in - more a helpful comment for anyone considering getting takeout.

Staff are always friendly and helpful, and any time we've dined in, the service has been great. It's a great spot to eat and drink when the sun is shining.

We generally always get takeout as it's been difficult in the past to get a table in the raised area last minute without a booking, but now that they have the covered (and heated) gazebo area, might give it a go again (I do agree with some of the other comments that it is quite dominating on this pedestrian strip but I also think hospitality has had it hard over the past few years so will cut them a bit of slack - I'd rather see full tables and lots of people under a gazebo than a pile of empty tables that no one can sit at because of the winter weather).

Will continue to be a regular here, and if you haven't tried it,...

Pizza d'Asporto in Yarraville is highly regarded as one of Melbourne's top spots for pizza, celebrated for its authentic ingredients and exceptional dough that truly set it apart. The expertise of Italian pizza chefs behind the scenes ensures that each pizza is crafted with a level of authenticity and passion that's hard to find elsewhere. The atmosphere at Pizza d'Asporto adds to its charm, offering a good vibe that makes every visit enjoyable.

However, it's important to note that while Pizza d'Asporto generally maintains high standards, there have been instances of inconsistency, with some pizzas turning out soggy. This variance can be a letdown for those expecting the perfect slice every time.

Despite these occasional lapses in consistency, the quality of the dough remains a highlight. It's clear that a lot of care goes into its preparation, resulting in a base that's flavorful and has the perfect texture, embodying the most amazing part of their pizzas.

The price at Pizza d'Asporto has been on the rise, which is something to consider. Yet, for many, the combination of authentic ingredients, skilled Italian chefs, and the overall atmosphere make it worth the cost. In summary, Pizza d'Asporto in Yarraville continues to be a must-visit for pizza enthusiasts in Melbourne, offering an authentic experience despite some...

ORDERED: 🍕 Focaccia Aglio Olio E Peppercino: Mozzarella, garlic, E.V olive oil & chilli ($18.00) 🍝 Pork & Fennel Ragu: Casarecce w/ braised pork & fennel ragu ($27.00) 🍝 Salsiccia & Broccolini: Orecchiette with pork sausage & broccolini ($26.00)

$35.50pp between two people.

REVIEW: 😲 It was a surprise that the Focaccia came out in a pizza format! Although I was surprised by the form, I was more disappointed with the lack of toppings. If there's effort made to cut the pizza into slices, I'd expect toppings on each slice. Leaves without stems would've been appreciated too! 🍃

😖 The pasta was ok. The flavours were a little bit bland and needed assistance from additional salt. It seems like the servers don't offer any parmesan/chilli oil unless you ask... which is a shame because their chilli oil was delicious!

💡 We were sat upstairs, which felt like a completely different space from the warmth of downstairs. It was also overwhelmingly loud - I couldn't hear past the people sitting next to me. The white walls upstairs seemed just a big distance away from the fun and lively atmosphere downstairs.

Overall, it's not an ideal first experience at Pizza d'Asporto, but I hope yours is/has...
