Sadly, what was a venue, that i supported from well before COVID, even managing to get in a 60th birthday celebration in with interstate friends on a rare, boarders were open weekend, turned a "great food & attentive staff delivered" venue into a "doubt we'll be back" episode last night. Food quality was well below expectations & the level of service by the waitstaff was woeful. I've seen better customer service from an Uber Eats driver... Once seated @ our table it was 10 minutes before we were asked if we wanted to order a drink & before we could also place a food order they vanished off to get the drinks, we ordered a garlic bread to start, along with 2 top end steaks....25 minutes the bread arrives, with an ask if we also wanted any entrees/ no we will simply start with what we have ordered thanks. 30 minutes later, are you ready for your steaks? Um, yes please. By this stage we were more than 1 hour into our visit. Steaks arrive, given to the wrong person based upon how we wanted them cooked, only discovered as we cut them. We finish the steaks, beer was well & truly finished, sat for another 15 minutes before we were approached if there was anything else. Seems we were an inconvenience, or rather thats how we felt. We ordered dessert after the menu was returned to us 7 having a pointed fingernail tap where they were situated, along with they are listed above the kids menu. Golly thanks, could you read them out to us as obviously you felt we werent capable of finding them ourselves. Dessert arrives, 20 minutes later, was pretty plain, oh yeah, hadnt even been asked if we wanted coffee.... We decided that it was time to leave, head to the counter to pay as there was no sign of staff after 10 minutes in the atrium. There we then stood for 10 minutes whilst the waitress served a bunch of people some drinks & then took off as we stepped up to the counter....we watched as she headed out to serve the food being churned out of the kitchen to other diners.... meanwhile 2 staff were, one cleaning, the other too busy flirting with him to serve us, left us standing there waiting. Eventually this waitress comes over & asks what we wanted. I said, well after standing here waiting to pay, i'd like to do that thanks. Her response "well i'm here now", then struggled to find our account & rang it up. Golly sorry we were rude enough to want to pay....I almost asked for the manager, however frankly, i was over the whole thing. There are quite a number of other good places that serve steaks & they will see our regular patronage well before i...
Read moreAttended a function here which was very well catered and they did a great job with the footy atmosphere complete with Dj, live music and huge screens. Definitely a venue to consider on these big game days
New Came for a catered function and delighted in the noodle prawn canapé so much I literally chased the waitress around the space for them (I loved them so much I even cleverly stationed myself where the staff would be entering from). Props to the kitchen
Most recent Experienced a banger of a steak sandwich which pubs seem to find surprisingly difficult to nail. This made me appreciate the deliciousness of this even more so and as such I’ll be back for it again
Recent Had an after work function here and the bar tab had a decent variety of wine available. I enjoyed the canapés which were plentiful and filling
Latest Drinks and canapés for a function which was handy given it’s proximity to the station. Plenty of seating, plenty of food and a decent wine selection- what more can one ask for?
Further update We had drinks here after work and it’s a really good spot for post work nibbles as they can accomodate you with a semi private area and the space is so vast you can take a large group too.
The staff are pretty great also no doubt well seasoned professionals dealing with the pre footy crowds and post work suits
Update We had a work Christmas function at Platform 28 in the upstairs area with plentiful, sizeable canapés. There was a delicious lamb pasta dish with a really rich ragu that I enjoyed three bowls of, a chicken salad which didn’t interest me, fish and chips which are always a crowd pleaser but not a dish I enjoy and also a mushroom risotto.
Dessert wise we had a chocolate brownie which was a little cold so I imagine was frozen at one point, cheese boards and also a cream and berry tart with salted caramel which was really yummy but not finger food friendly given it was too large to eat in one bite and if you bit into it the sauce dripped everywhere. Bit of a mixed bag catering wise but certainly lots of food
Original review I've eaten here on many an occasion given I used to work nearby and it actually serves excellent food, surprising given the menu is your typical pub grub.
The lamb salad was healthy but extremely filling and packed with flavour from the dukkah seasoning. The walnuts gave it a nice crunch too pairing nicely with the creamy texture of the...

Full review: Superbowl lunch with team mates
We were there from about half time to the end of the game and there were a few other tables. The game was on several large screens placed so that whichever part of the restaurant/bar you were in, you could see it. People got excited and loud at appropriate moments but you could still generally have conversations in between those moments without shouting. The venue is also large enough to cater several groups comfortably.
The kitchen made a small mistake with my dietary requirement. However, the person who took my order spotted it and immediately offered to get a fresh plate for me. Though I declined, I appreciated that she made the offer.
We ordered the calamari, fish tacos, marina spaghetti, salad, Peri Peri chips, and veal schnitzel. The calamari was well seasoned and came with a delicious sauce... tasted like some kind of sweet/BBQ sriracha. However, the calamari crumb was completely, disappointingly soft, 0% crunch. I'm more of a flavour than a texture person so I still enjoyed it but if texture really matters to you, I wouldn't recommend it. My team mates didn't comment on the fish tacos but the fish in their marinara apparently tasted like cubes of frozen fish. My veal schnitzel was perfectly crunchy and seasoned on the outside, and tender on the inside. I loved them. The chips were not salted at all but there's pink salt & pepper on the tables. I also just used the chili mayo which came with the Peri Peri chips. FYI these come with a little more of a kick than the Nando's version of Peri Peri chips. I enjoyed them.
Overall, it was a little expensive for an everyday meal. However, I can't think of a better venue for large groups and team events...
