Extremely Disappointed – Not Authentic South Indian at All
As someone born and raised in South India (Chennai), I had high expectations – but this was hands down the worst South Indian Biriyani food I’ve ever tasted. The dishes served here are nowhere close to authentic south indian. The taste was bland, texture was off, To make matter the prices are outrageously high for the poor quality they offer. Instead of focusing on flashy menus and inflated pricing, they seriously need to work on the quality and authenticity of their food.
In short, the only thing South Indian here is the name on the menu. Avoid if you’re looking for real South Indian taste.
To The Owner .Below is my reply for your comments.
Thank you for your reply, though it’s disappointing and frankly unprofessional coming from a business owner.
First of all, I am from Chennai, born and raised. I’ve grown up eating authentic South Indian biriyani across Tamil Nadu, from home-cooked meals to local legends so I certainly know the difference between genuine South Indian flavours and what was served at your restaurant. What you offer is nowhere close to the taste, texture, or preparation style of authentic South Indian biriyani.
If your regular customers are unfamiliar with what real South Indian biriyani tastes like, that doesn’t give you the right to serve a poor imitation and claim it as such. Please don’t insult the intelligence of those who actually know and love this cuisine.
Instead of getting defensive and resorting to personal attacks, you should take feedback as an opportunity to improve. Resorting to insults like “you deserve zero stars” shows how little regard you have for genuine customer feedback.
In short: Don’t try to fool people with a name on the menu. Focus on learning what real South Indian food is – and deliver it with the respect...
Read moreI really think that if this restaurant gets 4 stars, that’s definitely overrated. Food tasted very average. I also find it a bit strange that they serve sri lankan food with Indian food. For example, they serve parotha but they don’t do naan. They serve many Indian curry, kinda a bit strange without naan but to have it with parotha. It isn’t so bad, it just feels like half way Indian and half way Sri Lankan. Masala tea and Bru Coffee were not bad though. The other thing is that the cutleries are very dirty. Owner should consider improve cleanliness. It is very gross for customers to eat on these cutleries. I picked 4 sets of spoons and forks, 3 sets were dirty. Before shop opens, these are all the things that staff need to check to ensure things are clean. To be honest, i don’t think i will go back for an average tasting food at a not so clean restaurant.
It defies all logic how a supposedly reputable establishment like MMS Madras Mirchi can repeatedly botch a request so elementary that even a chimpanzee with a rudimentary graspinstruction-following could execute it flawlessly. For the tenth time, I ordered noodles without pepper and vegetables, and for the tenth time, my explicit request was utterly disregarded.
What part of “no pepper, no veggies” is so unfathomably complex for the culinary geniuses at this establishment? Are my words being transmitted through some incomprehensible dialect, or is this sheer negligence masquerading as service? My order was not a suggestion, nor a whimsical test of your interpretive skills. It was a directive that is clear, concise, and impossible to misinterpret unless willful ignorance is the modus operandi here.
The noodles, once my comfort food, now arrive as a soggy insult to my intelligence, laden with the very ingredients I explicitly forbade. The pepper burns with the fiery sting of betrayal, while the vegetables stand as a mocking monument to your incompetence.
Two stars, only because the delivery driver managed to find my address without incident. As for MMS Madras Mirchi, consider this your final warning: either rectify your glaring inability to follow basic instructions or prepare to lose a...
