Popping & Tea Footscray — Restaurant in Melbourne

There are a lot of these places around, but this is my absolute favourite and I walk the extra for their drinks. I'm a little overwhelmed by the huge variety of different drinks and combinations including cheese and rice; I'm probably too old. But the staff are so friendly and helpful and have helped me order exactly what I want! I LOVE the watermelon ice drink! I like the yoghurt drinks with the 'pearls' or popps or whatever they're called too. I've gotten into the Yarra and matcha tea too and in summer they have great icecream with excellent flavours. I'm not brave enough to try the cheese drinks ..... yet. But they have so many different options that there is literally something for everyone! Vegan options are available too. What I like most, besides the product are the friendly staff and the atmosphere. It's a small place, but they've decked it out really well, very nice. Comfortable couches and even reading material or toys for the kids! Popping Tea is my favourite! ...

A new kid on the block for the milk tea scene in footscray. Clear non hidden menu, friendly staff and a bobba plushy adds to its charm.

Popping & Teareally shine with their milk tea as their milk tea is just okay. Got unique flavour such as coconut milk tea which is amazing and you don't feel that artificial coconut taste which is good. Their brown sugar milk tea is also very nice not to sickly sweet. They make their pearls in house which you can tell, however it does sometimes clumps all in one big ball.

A colouring in sheet for kids is also provided while waiting or having their drinks so that's really considerate.

However they blast the music pretty loud which kinda makes you think why have kids set when the music is so loud it may hurt the kids ears.

Overall an excellent addition to the bubble milk tea scene in footscray, with some minor fine tuning but its definitely one place to keep going back to. Plus it is doing a 20% soft opening so you can...

Popping Tea Footscray is an absolute gem! The drinks are always fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced — not too sweet, with consistently great texture in the pearls and popping boba. Their fruit teas are especially refreshing and full of flavour. The staff are quick, friendly, and efficient, even when it’s busy.
