Rice Bar Not Only Rice — Restaurant in Melbourne

We had a great lunch at Rice Bar Not Only Rice. Each dish was around just over ten dollars, and really good quality food. We ordered the Hainan Fried Chicken Rice, Beef Brisket Noodles, Peking Style Chicken with Rice, Braised Mushroom & Chicken Feet Dry Noodles and Iced Teh Tarik. Everything was served quickly and tasted fresh. The kids enjoyed all the dishes, which is always a bonus.

As someone who enjoys spicy food, I should’ve asked them to “make it spicy”. The overall flavor profile was more sweet and savory, which many will like, but I prefer a bit more heat. They do provide chili oil on the side, but I feel the dishes would be even better if the spiciness was cooked into the meal itself rather than added afterward.

You don't know what you're missing until you try this place! I stumbled upon this gem while grabbing coffee at Good Measure over the weekend and decided to have dinner here. Melbourne's winter definitely calls for a steaming bowl of rice, and this place delivered.

We, two girls, ordered the Fish Fragrant Eggplant Casserole, Lemon Chicken, and Stir-Fried Clams, along with two bowls of rice. It had been a while since I had such a satisfying meal.

The Fish Fragrant Eggplant came with minced meat, making it perfect for mixing with rice. The lemon chicken pieces were impressively large, and the stir-fried clams were so addictive that we couldn't stop eating. Every dish surpassed our expectations with its deliciousness.

The food not as tasty, changed Owner and Chef and rude staff! They also charge unneccesarily eg I was charged $0.50 extra for takeaway container as we ordered 2 dishes and after 1 dish, we were full, didnt even touch the other one so we requested takeaway, but they charged me 50cents extra! I asked if I initially takeaway do you charge, they said "no" but because you did not tell us earlier, we have to charge you now!!! WTH! Then I asked, what about the other dish where I gave you my own container to take away, why dont you deduct 50cents then?! The waiter said I dont know, this is instructed by the Boss!!!
