Had the weirdest experience at this place.
The first time I went, I asked if they could make the Mont Blanc without orange zest (because I naturally donāt like orange in my coffee š), and the guy was totally fine with it. He said he could leave it off, and he did ā the drink was great. I also had an egg sandwich I really liked.
Fast forward a couple of months, and Iām back, excited to get the same order. I ask for the Mont Blanc without orange zest again, and the guy at the register starts hesitating. Heās joking around like, āI could⦠but it might cost me my job š ,ā which weirds me out a bit. But then he goes, āNah, itās fine, I can do it.ā Cool. I pay, let him know Iām just going to use the bathroom, and all seems fine.
Then things get weird.
I walk out of the bathroom and Iām confronted by this waitress who asks, āAre you the girl who ordered the Mont Blanc without orange zest?ā I say yes. She proceeds to tell me that because itās their signature drink, they canāt remove the orange zest.
For context: the zest is literally the final step ā a sprinkle on top ā so in theory theyāre saving themselves effort by not doing it.
I tell her, āI just really donāt like orange,ā and she goes, āYeah, well⦠we can cancel the order.ā Which is honestly baffling. Theyād rather cancel a paid order than not zest a drink. As if skipping the orange would suddenly open the floodgates to customers asking for all sorts of wild customisations and ruin their drink integrity forever.
Anyway, I say okay, cancel the drink, and head to the counter. The original guy gives me this remorseful look like he just got told off. Not his fault ā someone clearly overheard and dobbed him in. Very strange culture.
As heās refunding the drink, I decide to just back out of the sandwich too. He checks with the kitchen and theyāre like, āYeah, we already made it⦠but refund it, I guess.ā So they refunded the entire order ā food and all ā just because they refused to not put orange zest on my coffee.

Read moreI recently visited Good Measure Cafe with a friend, and it was a delightful experience. The café can get busy around 1 pm. It had a cozy ambience, perfect for a relaxed catch-up or quick bite.
One of the highlights of our visit was the Mont Blanc coffee ($8 each at the moment). Itās a filter coffee-based iced drink (about 5 chunks of ice taking up more than half of the cup) with dark sugar, a layer of cream, and a hint of freshly shaved orange zest & nutmeg on top. The coffee was expertly brewed. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or enjoy a good cup of joe, the Mont Blanc coffee is worth a try. We also indulged in their Ramen Egg Salad Sandwich and Pastrami DLX Sandwich. Both sandwiches were exceptionally delicious, and we couldn't decide which one we liked better. We decided to exchange halves to experience the best of both worlds. The Ramen Egg Salad Sandwich was a delightful fusion of flavours, with the creamy egg salad perfectly complementing the savoury ramen. On the other hand, the Pastrami DLX Sandwich was a carnivore's dream. Packed with flavorful pastrami, it was a satisfying and hearty choice.
What impressed us the most was the attentive and friendly staff. Despite the cafe's popularity, they took the time to engage with customers and ensure everyone had a great experience. We noticed they even went out of their way to chat with some influencers who were only there for the perfect Instagram picture. Seeing that the staff genuinely cared about their customers' satisfaction rather than just catering to social media trends was refreshing.
Overall, our visit to Good Measure Cafe was a delightful one. The Mont Blanc coffee, Ramen Egg Salad Sandwich, and Pastrami DLX Sandwich were all top-notch in taste and presentation. The inviting atmosphere and the friendly staff made it a memorable dining experience. Whether you're a coffee lover, sandwich enthusiast, or simply looking for a cozy place to unwind, Good Measure Cafe is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe place is overrated. Although the interior of the cafe is aesthetic and perfect as a date spot with friends or partners, it is ridiculous that there is a waiting list just to dine in as a cafe. I see empty seats yet I have to wait? And the customer right after me gets a seat right away? Thereās even no place to sit outside, so I was only left with the option to takeaway. Not only that, I wanted to at least take a photo of the coffee with the cafe inside, but I was given glances before I was told to wait outside which is again ridiculous as I have travelled a hefty 30 minutes to arrive the cafe just to have a taste of its coffee due to its reputation and I canāt even enjoy the atmosphere of the cafe? Moreover, the cashier was lacking a proper attitude as a staff who represents the cafe. I understand they might be busy, but she literally said hi, stood around for maybe around a minute before taking my order. For what reason. Lastly, the coffee is not worth the service or the travel. Their famous Mont Blanc is overrated. Although the consistency was great, it is terribly sweet and has a weird aftertaste that tasted like medicine tbh. I couldnāt taste the coffee at all. And as for the nitro cold brew, it was horrible too because it tasted like saltwater rather than actual coffee. (As if thereās any coffee to taste) I understand that their coffee is special and creative, and I really like its branding and packaging, but if the taste doesnāt work out, whatās the point of selling it as coffee or a drink? I am seriously disappointed and will never return to...
