RSL Healesville — Restaurant in Melbourne

RSL is located towards end of central shopping area opposite of Beechworth Bakery.

My family took me to the lunch before my wine tasting. Friendly staff helped us to sign in at the counter then enter to the bistro dining area. We came a little early but nice staff let us seat and check the menu😃

The coffee was surprisingly excellent😋 spot on my liking💕 I wish the kitchen open early for breakfast but definitely recommend any coffee order here👍☆5

Opposite wine celler's coffee was really bad so I would leave my family here whoever don't drink alcohol then walk back to the bistro after the wine tasting😋 Everyone is happy this way✌️

We ordered roast and dessert set menu. Sweet potato was wrapped with roast meat. I am not the fan of roast and more for steak but everyone ordered the set menu so I did. The roast beef was cooked perfect and yummy 😋 I did finished all. There was choice of brownie and Puvlova for dessert. Sweets are always yummy...

Really yummy food, more options than there used to be and a good selection of seniors and children's options too. There are also quite a few starters, the cheesy garlic bread is definitely worth trying, it's probably the best I've had and something we get every time. Just be aware that the meals are huge! So if you're like us and often can't have massive mains, maybe take it easy on the starters or do what we do and share a main between two. We shared the salt and pepper calamari with chips and salad between two and it ended up looking like two generous main meals! So we're definitely impressed with the generosity and value for money. They also have cocktails at the bar, the midori one is delicious! Staff are always friendly and the kitchen gets the meals out quickly even at peak times. An okay RSL for food. We came here during Covid, so it wasn't busy, and the gambling areas were closed off. We were a walk in, and they managed to clear a table for us while we waited on some lounges.

The staff were friendly but a little disheveled. Our server couldn't remember all the specials, and she explained that she was usually a game attendant, but obviously repurposed to the dining area because hers was closed.

We ordered 1 steak and a Parma. Parma was half size and well made, the steak was not the best piece (was meant to be a porterhouse cut) but was chewy and overcooked for what was requested.

Price range is worth it if you have a concession card, otherwise, a bit pricey for what...
