✔️ Miso Soup ✔️ Chicken Karaage ➖ Edamame ➖ Teriyaki Tofu ➖ Sushi Platter Shoku Eatery is Japanese restaurant located in Melbourne’s CBD. It is sister restaurant to Kai Dining in South Yarra, offering a variety of sushi, bento, rice bowls and sides. 🇯🇵 It is a very casual and laid back venue, very similar to a typical day time cafe. They have a range of Japanese alcoholic beverages and cocktails (mostly highballs and soju) or enjoy a nice pot of flavoured tea like Melon or Peach. 🫖 The best value order here is their Shoku Sushi Platter at $89.90, which comes with 16PC of signature sushi rolls, 6PC assorted nigiri and 15PC assorted sashimi. The Love at First Bite sushi rolls featured salmon which was a little chewy, and the pieces were very large making for awkward eating. The Ocean sushi rolls featured 4 different seafood toppings, salmon, kingfish, tuna and scallop. They all contained crab sticks which I wasn’t a fan of. The sashimi and nigiri were ok quality, my favourites were the tuna and scallops. 🍣 We got a few sides to try, the miso soup was nice, as was the Chicken Karaage which was seasoned well and very moist - just wished they were more crunchy! The Teriyaki Tofu was nice but found ourselves eating only the pieces and leaving the rest. Overall, I visited with quite high expectations, particularly fueled by the glowing five-star reviews and the buzz on social media. While it didn't quite exceed those expectations, it was simply satisfactory. The service was lovely! 🤗

BEST sushi platter in Melbourne CBD 🍱 This cosy hidden Japanese spot serves up some of the most impressive sushi platters, plus teishoku sets, rice bowls, creative sushi rolls and more! 🍣 We got the Shoku 2.0 Platter which easily feeds 2-3pp 🙌 It comes with a selection of their signature sushi, maki and sashimi! we also got another order of their popular Unagi Roll and it’s definitely not one to miss! Aside from sushi, they also have a variety of teishoku sets / rice bowls - the Salmon with Mentaiko Sauce was SO delicious, the salmon was seared perfectly and melts-in-your-mouth 🤤 and the Chicken Katsu with Japanese Curry is more on the rich and savoury side! They also have weekday lunch specials for just $15.9 💸 What we got: 🍱 Shoku 2.0 Platter ($99.9) 🥪 Chicken Katsu Sando ($16.9) 🍛 Chicken Katsu with Japanese Curry Teishoku ($27.9) 🐟 Seared Salmon with Mentaiko Sauce Rice Bowl ($17.9) 🍗 Tori Karaage ($13.9) 🍣 Unagi Roll ($19.9)

If you’re craving exceptional Japanese flavors, @shoku.melbourne is the place to be! Nestled in Little Bourke St serves the best sushi platters and Japanese dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious. Amazing sushi !! 🍱 Tasted like heaven, so fresh and beautiful Their signature “Shoku 2.0” platter is a sushi lover’s dream—loaded with prawn, crab, tuna, salmon, and more, perfect for sharing and indulging. The restaurant’s sleek, modern decor adds an extra layer of charm, creating an inviting atmosphere ideal for both group gatherings and intimate meals.
