I had organised and paid this venue for a private event for my sister’s Hen’s event. We arrived (in the rain) to the venue and were knocking on the door. No staff were present. I attempted to call (the 1300 number was the only available) and email, and did not receive a response.

I contacted the Thornbury Pinot and Picasso and was contacted back immediately. Whilst separately owned, the person I spoke to tried their hardest to help us with times that they could accommodate throughout the weekend. And I believe they also contacted their head office for me.

Unfortunately, that significant portion of our prepared Hen’s event was ruined.

We made the trip into the city yesterday to pick up our paintings, only to be told the paintings had been discarded. This was very disappointing as we were never informed about a two-week pickup policy — in fact, the instructor reassured us at the time that we could collect them anytime. Had we known, we would have taken our paintings home the same day. The class itself was enjoyable, but losing our paintings took away from the experience. We had a great time painting the glow-in-the-dark Starry Night. Our instructor was great, and we were guided through the piece. However, a group in our class was throwing around paint, making hate speech, bumping into us while we painted and shouting. Our instructor didn't ask them to calm down, even after we informed her of their behaviour. We moved ourselves to the other side of the room, but the vibe wasn't what we had anticipated.
