Just NO. No. No. No. No. No. This is not thai food as you know it. Saltiness off the chart. Mass produced roti that was like rubber. Mass produced pre frozen spring roll with zero taste. Stir fry chicken & cashew that is doused in fish sauce and doesn’t even resemble the taste of thai stir fry cashew. Green curry prawn was terrible. Salty. Zero green curry hint of sweetness flavour of palm sugar. Coconut cream was tasteless itself but so much was used it diluted all other flavour except the obscene offensive to taste saltiness. What the hell is a green curry doing being salty let alone being so salty it is inedible. What the hell could they possibly be thinking?!! Prawns were stringy with zero flavour i.e frozen. Stir fry satay beef didn’t even resemble satay flavour. It was just salty with no other flavour. Truly an insult to even call it satay.Inedible. Beef was dry like rubber. Coconut rice was wet and gloopy with tasteless excessive coconut cream used. Terrible. Truly terrible. I ordered via Uber. Food was very hot when delivered. Within ten minutes of being on the plate it was stone cold. Only microwaved food has that temperature behaviour. All up, I ate a spoon full of each dish, and threw it all in the bin - $150 worth. Have had a terrible after taste in my mouth and strange sensation of soreness at the back of my throat for hours after eating just a spoonful of each dish of this all round disgusting inedible salty slop. Would have been ten times better off making toasted cheese for dinner and I’d be $150 better off and not still hungry. Never...
Read moreI’d seen this restaurant a million times while traveling in the 86 tram & always wanted to check it out. After having had a poor experience at another Thai restaurant the day before, I was looking to get a better experience & cleanse my memory of Thai food. Silk Thai came to the rescue & not only with the food, but also the customer service! I ordered the roti rolls, Tom Kha Gai, & coco banana for dessert. All were delicious & well priced. I wanted to try many many more items on the menu but will have to return for more. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the atmosphere. While it was a pleasant experience, it was missing something for me to feel a bit “warmer.” Like live plants or special lighting. Anyways, I’ll be back for more & I think I’ve found my favorite Thai restaurant...
Read moreMade a reservation for a couple, on a wintery, Tuesday night. We arrived and there was only one other couple there, we were handed our menu's which were fancy looking and fabric covered and very grotty AND items expensive. We were extremely cold and noted zero heating, not so much as a portable heater for patrons, not much warmer in, than out! The place was awfully, basic and not what we were hoping for from restaurant appeal, nor comfort, not to mention, dirty menu's, with overpriced Thai items. We didn't bother hazarding to attempt dining here. Needless to say, we left and enjoyed a meal, elsewhere, in warm,...
