REVIEW: I appreciate that Sinjeon is halal friendly, even for those dishes which have pork, the kitchen uses separate utensils. 🌿
❤ Favourite: The K-corn dog. This is made from white fish so it leaves you feeling lighter, as opposed to the heavy pork/beef feeling after. This was a fun snack to eat, so would order this again! Kimchi fried rice. It's a classic combo of kimchi flavoured rice, cheese, corn, seaweed and an egg. Mercilessly mixed together, it was an incredibly satisfying meal. 😍🤩 Special shout out to the fried chicken, which was so crispy but still moist! 🍗
❌ Least favourite: Cheese Topokki and instant noodles. Firstly, the extra spicy is no joke. My friend who's a regular to spice was also struggling. We agreed that normal spice would've been a better option. 😂 It's quite heavy and thick. I think it would greatly benefit from more vegetables to balance it more out.
Overall, this was a tonne of food for two. It's affordable and packed full of flavour - even though I didn't have the most healthy options. 😎
Service was pretty efficient. Takeaway cutlery seems to be the norm, which is a shame when I'm dining in. We came by for a late lunch (1:15pm on a Sunday) and were lucky enough to snag one of the last few...

Food 5/5 *Rose Toppoki - This was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend this dish and probably only this! Had the right amount of cream, right amount of punch and kick as well! I would suggest you eat this with rice to cut off the richness. This combination is heavenly! *Corn dog and fried chicken were lacking when compared to the above. Corn dog was very plain. Nothing special. Fried chicken as crispy, however, the flour to meat ratio was off. Not enough chicken and too much batter. It's like almost eating an oily fried donut drenched in so much sauce.. Not sure why they would need the chicken swimming in a pool of sauce. See photos. You can see partial areas of it, jt by the time you're on your 3rd chicken piece, it's way too saucy. Value 3.5/5 *Mixed Value for each dish. Hit and miss menu items, for example I would definitely not pay for another corn dog or over drenched, high batter content chicken again, however, I would definitely come back just for the rose Toppoki! Even score here averaged out.
Atmosphere 4/5 *Lively, busy, big queues, soju. Good times and vibes here. Get here early to avoid queues!
Customer Service 3.5/5 *Nothing special to note here. They are probably to busy to care.
Overall *A few hit and miss items. A reviewed menu would do them good, however, just get the rose Toppoki with rice, soju and good...
Read moreI recently dined at Sin Jeon in Melbourne CBD, and it was a delightful experience. The restaurant offers a chill and vibrant atmosphere that’s perfect for enjoying Korean.
I tried the Cheese Bulgogi Kimbap, KFC Chicken Kimbap, and Chicken Buldak Noodles. The Cheese Bulgogi Kimbap was a standout with its tender beef and creamy cheese, perfectly wrapped in seaweed and rice. Each bite was flavorful and satisfying.
The KFC Chicken Kimbap offered a unique twist with its crispy fried chicken, adding a delightful crunch to the traditional kimbap. It was well-seasoned and balanced in taste.
The Chicken Buldak Noodles were a spicy treat that packed a punch. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the fiery sauce was intense but incredibly delicious, perfect for those who love a bit of heat in their meal.
Overall, Sin Jeon is a decent spot for Korean food lovers. The dishes are well-prepared, and the service is friendly and efficient. I highly recommend...
