This restaurant does not offer a very extensive menu and that’s i love it. They are very good with their sashimi (my friend proved it!) and for this time, we tried their another menu.
Pork Bone Soup, a rich soup comes with delightful pork bone and delicious soup. The price $40 is a fair price for the portion and quality.
Homemade kimchi, unlike ordinary kimchi that served with red spice and tangy taste, their kimchi comes with darker color and sweet taste. It’s different but tasty. For me, a home made food should be unique so it can be stand out unlike another shops that use store-bought kimchi brands we can find at korean supermarkets.
Seafood Pancake, crispy on top part and chewy inside. The seafood they use is quite fresh so i could enjoy a great pancake. The flavor is quite balanced without being too much salty or too bland. I have tried some other pancakes outside so i can tell Soolton’s pancake prepared throughly by their chefs to ensure we could enjoy a delicious and crispy pancake.
A very simple korean restaurant that shows typical korean street food design which i find the restaurant is quite tidy and clean. Dont be surprised to find some One Piece anime character wanted poster on the wall. (I love One...

Came here to try out some Melbourne Korean food with family for dinner. This place does fusion Korean and Japanese. It is a small cozy little place with decor on the walls putting a modern twist on Korean-inspired drinking places. The place was a bit tight though.
We then proceeded to order a Cutlass Fish Soup, the Medium Sashimi Platter and a Kimchi Pancake. As well as a couple of Sojus for drinks.
The Cutlass Fish Soup was nice, fish was tender and the broth tasted kimchi-y but there are quite a lot of bones in the fish which made it a bit of a hassle to eat.
The Sashimi Platter was also alright, fish tasted decently fresh and tender with no weird after tastes and they recommended eating it with Korean Condiments - Green Chillis, Lettuce, Garlic and Kimchi.
Lastly, we have the Kimchi Pancake, edges are kinda crispy with the middle sections softer and has a great tangy kimchi after taste. But I definitely have had better.
All in all, I thought the food was very average, it was good but not absolutely delicious or “I would return again” kinda good. Especially since this place was slightly on the expensive side However, the food is quite tuned to the Asian palate though and that could be a reason...
Read moreWe visited Sooltong and ordered the crab stew, seafood pancake, and sashimi set. The crab stew was a standout — generous in portion, packed with flavour, and with a depth of spice that made it really comforting and satisfying. The seafood pancake was another highlight, served crisp on the outside with a nice mix of seafood pieces throughout, making it very enjoyable to share.
The sashimi set, however, was quite disappointing. While it looked fresh when it arrived, the texture of the fish was unfortunately very tough and chewy, which really let the dish down and made it difficult to enjoy. Given sashimi is usually expected to be delicate and melt-in-the-mouth, this was a surprise and a bit of a letdown compared to the other dishes.
That being said, the service was attentive and the atmosphere lively, giving the restaurant a warm, bustling feel. Overall, while the sashimi wasn’t up to standard, the other dishes carried the meal, and Sooltong is still worth a visit for its hot dishes and...
