Here is an actual review from last week (keep in mind $180pp): Food - Cheese platter Everything you need is there, you only wish there was more of what you love like blue cheese.
Desert Deserts were delicious! But only 2 options? I couldn’t even choose which whole desert I wanted, what if we wanted the same desert? The waiter ignored me and just rudely placed it without my input when I tried to talk.
Mains The steak was to die for and the shank was amazing. The potato was also amazing and this is where the service shines. It was delivered to the right table and served with pleasure.
Entrees The selection was great and fresh! But, we ordered 2 different entrees and the waiter didn’t know anything and was confused. After, said “hey, we were supposed to have this.” He then unapologetically replied, “Well you accepted it.” No sorry, no fixes.
Service - You can image 1 star is lost on the food side of things due to the service: and you’d be right. The mains were tracked correctly but not entrees. While the drinks lady was amazing and the mains waiter was perfect, the entree guy was just not trained. Seating is random? Doesn’t matter if you’re first or last in line.
Atmosphere - It was phenomenal! I think if you’re upstairs at night during winter good luck with the cold. Inside, it was like 18c and you could really just chill in there and it was amazing. The decks are soooo small and you’re lucky that barely anyone wants to go out there and freeze; however, the view is amazing and worth freezing for. The tables were so small similar to the seats and the cover was oversized.
Conclusion - For $180 per person, for a substantial event like Anniversaries or big milestone Bdays, I cautiously recommend it. The seats are hard on you, the tables are small and ours wobbled. The service is hit or miss and I assume it hits 99% and is amazing, but then you wonder why not more is offered when you pay so much? Even if the stake is $50, the deserts $20, drinks $20, and cheese plater is $10… there’s still $80 left. Was the view worth $80? 1 piece of bread and no offers for more? 1 desert only with no choice? No chocolate with a coffee? . If you’re financially stable, I’d recommend you go at least once. If you only have $360 (for 2 people) and have no secure work, nah. There are cheaper options and even a simple restaurant on land is fine. For off-land, this was above average (3/5) but doesn’t hit the high end service and execution of value, service, and atmosphere (tables, seats) that it needs to break into that 4.5/5 stars.
Thanks again to everyone who did work hard on the ship and my compliments...
Read moreThis was something I was keen to try out. And although we had a fun time, the fun was probably attributed to the company we had rather than the quality of the experience provided.
The pros: The entree and mains were pretty good and the portions were quite good. 4 course meal with nice cheeses to finish off all-you-can-drink beer, spirits and wine a 3 hour experience
The cons: half of the wait staff were good and the other were atrocious. I've never been to a restaurant where they dump a stack of plates in front of one of the guests and expect them to self distribute. The lack of friendliness with some wait staff is definitely noted too. Forgotten meals, and food taken away without asking. The wait staff were so overworked and in such a rush that it made us all feel rushed too. the boat trip itself is boring as hell. The itinerary involves going from Southbank to Rod Laver Arena and back and again. So you travel through the same 300 metres stretch 4 times. -we were lucky to have been sat by the window but if you sit in the middle, it's a pretty ordinary experience -you are told to call to reconfirm your attendance at least 3 days before the day and then call again on the day to reconfirm boarding time. Not sure why since we have prepaid for the meals. Also, most restaurants now use a text message to contact the customer so the onus should be on the restaurant and not the customer. for $140 per head I didn't think it was worth it
Overall, I'm glad that we went to experience it, but would definitely not want to do it again nor recommended it...
Read moreI had the most wonderful time on the boat cruise! Everything about it was simply perfect. Firstly, the weather couldn't have been better, adding to the overall delightful experience.
The crew on board were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Unlike most all you can drink places where you usually have to wait patiently for a refill this boat ensured that our glasses were constantly filled.
The ambiance on the boat was fantastic, with great music playing in the background. It added a lively and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the cruise. Additionally, the food served was delicious. My husband and I both found ourselves cleaning our plates, savoring every bite-except for maybe the seafood tasting entree.
This boat cruise made for a perfect date night. The views at night were absolutely breathtaking. The reflections off the water were simply mesmerizing and added an extra touch of magic to the evening. It created a romantic and picturesque setting, making our date night truly unforgettable.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the crew and staff for providing such an exceptional experience. The combination of perfect weather, friendly and attentive crew, great music, delicious food, and stunning views truly made this boat cruise an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much for creating such a...
