Korean food in Melbourne is always a little hit and miss. In the case with Subi, it's a little of both. Firstly, the service that I had here was excellent. Knowledge of food, recommendations and cooking style was all communicated flawlessly. The staff are attentive and thoughtful and are always there watching you cook just in case you need them. Where this place is a little lacking, is in the quality of meat, flavour of meat and depth of marinade. The Bulgogi was dry and flavourless and the beef was tough. Where the dishes did excell was in the side dishes, the pickles and kimchi. Look. It could of been a bad night for the chef, it could have been a delivery issue with the meat, so don't completely avoid this place, go and check it out. If you're looking for authentic Korean BBQ, I wouldn't recommend this place, however if you're wanting to cross it off your list, stick with the pork and sides and of course enjoy the...

When calling to Order the highly recommended Bulgolgi the man on the phone asked if meant the Sizzling plate... I don't know, do I? Everyone in your reviews is commenting on the Bulgolgi. Anyway when I arrived the restaurant was lovely and the young man that got my order didn't seem to be confused about what my dish was called. He was wonderful and restaurant looked and felt really nice. Such a shame the Bulgolgi was probably the most sub par experience I've had from take out in our area.. we had to add our own chilli paste and kimchi as there was none in the dish at all (lucky we had some of our own in the fridge) beef was so tough we gave the majority to our dogs before having to season the rest ourselves. The rice was OK but a but gluggy.

Shocking quality of food at the price point, essentially 21 dollars for a microwave ready meal and none of the flavours of Korea.

Sorry guys won't be back....

I recently dined at your establishment and ordered the Kimchi Stew with Kimchi, Tofu, and Pork, priced at $22. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the dish due to the quality of the pork included.

Specifically, I found that the portion of pork provided was extremely small and not up to the standard I expected for the price. It appeared to be more like leftover scraps rather than a substantial piece of meat as advertised. Given the price point of the dish, I felt this was not reflective of good value for money.

I appreciate the effort that goes into preparing dishes, and I understand that variations can occur. However, I wanted to bring this matter to your attention in the hope that it can be addressed to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction...

I discovered this beautiful venue not long ago, after I moved in South Yarra and this was our 2nd time visiting the place. The food: Great quality Wagyu beef, tasty banchan, amazing fried chicken and one of the best kimchi I have tried. The service: Super quick, friendly, Korean family owned and operated, they are beautiful people with traditional values and great quality overall. Atmosphere: Casual, but nice. You truly feel like you are in Seoul. Drinks: Good selection, extra cold beer, soju, and fanrtastic rice wine always ready to be poured just seconds after you order it. We quickly became regulars of this place, 100% recommended. Victor

One of the rare Korean restaurant within the South Yarra vicinity. The front of the restaurant have a cafe vibe whereas the back is suited for bigger groups. They also have couple of outdoor seatings for sunny day. The food is suprisingly authentic and not really westernised. It's a shame we have to pay for kimchi and no other side dishes. It was apparently home made but was not worth paying for, should have given it for free. The udon was chewy and have a refreshing sauce that goes with it. Food - 9 Service - 7 Vibe - 8 Price - $$$
