Update April 2025: Came back a second time and can confirm service is definitely not their strong point. During the busy rush the staff are stressed and disorganised. When the staff are visibly in a bad mood it makes the experience very awkward. The food is still very good though 👌 I tried the Allouchi ($8) and it was very nice. It had a zesty, lemony flavour with wilted spinach and cheese. The bread was soft and pillowy. However, the service and atmosphere left a bit to be desired. An older man blatantly cut the line and was still served before everyone else. Right after he ordered, the rest of us had to wait around five minutes while they sorted out previous orders before taking any new ones. I also got a slightly unwelcoming vibe. Staff greeted Middle Eastern looking or speaking customers with warmth but did not acknowledge me at all.

I used to go to Cedar bakery in Preston and A1 bakery in Brunswick which are renowned as the best places to have Lebanese pastry in Melbourne. These places unfortunately tend to have inconsistencies with their pastries. Then you have Tabet bakery Coburg. The dough, the cheese filling, the meat filling, the zaatar filling can be described with one word, Consistency. It gets better with every bite. I don’t hope to go anywhere else unless someone can make better manoush on a consistent basis. Period.

Best Lebanese Bakery on Sydney Road!! Always Fresh! Always Friendly! Generous Size. Lots of Filling. Highly Recommend! Popular with the locals!! This is the kind of place that the staff and owners remember, and welcome you back.

I respect this shop owners/staff so much. First of all for their welcoming and lovely staff. They always kind and friendly and that's on Top of their pastries being the best in taste.

Today I had a different experience with this ship which raised my respect and gratitude. My car was about to be towed away for me not reading signs correctly. One of the staff stepped out from the customers to help me and talk to the tow guy and make me feel supported as I was in a rush getting on my way to pick up my son from day care.

I really recommend this place for their yummy bakes and their unique staff...

Tabet's is a northern suburbs institution and worthy of that mantle. The food is so fresh and the prices are affordable for anyone. A cheese pie starts at a mere $3. I've been going to Tabets since 2000 and never ever had a bad meal there. Their pies and pizzas are unique in flavour and so, so tasty. I can recommend the sausage and vegetable folded pizza, too. There's no crud in their operation - no childish social media, fancy interior or pushy staff. Just quick service super-tasty Lebanese...
