Take Two is a Melbourne bagel shop with two locations in Brunswick East and recently Ascot Vale. The shop prepares boiled and baked bagels each day, using locally sourced and in-house ingredients. 🥯
The both venues are super funky and retro, with space to sit and enjoy. Coffee is by Supreme Coffee, but they also do a fantastic Chai and a selection of juices and smoothies. ☕️
They have 10 sandwich options and 7 different bagel options to choose from: Everything, Sesame, Poppy, Plain, Blueberry, Cinnamon & Raisin and Gluten-free. They’re all vegan.
Personally in Melbourne these are my favourite bagels so far both in fillings and the bagel itself, the perfect texture - not too chewy and not too soft. The fillings all work harmoniously with eachother and really hit the spot. I did struggle to pick a favourite of the three but it might’ve been the Chilli Eggs. 🌶️
If you cbf leaving the house you can also get Take Two on Ubereats or DoorDash.

For starters don't order online. I ordered via their website for pickup and paid in full. When I got there later than the expected pickup time they not only hadn't noticed the order but couldn't work out how to view a record of it in their systems. So with this extra searching and confusion, it all took longer than simply ordering when I got there. That being said they were quite quick about it, which I appreciated. And staff were friendly enough and polite.
Bagel (#5) was not that fresh but the main thing about it was that it tasted overwhelmingly of herbs, thyme I think. It was so strong I couldn't taste anything else. The bagel's ingredients list includes one they call "damn good mayo" but I beg to differ.
Finally, if you are going to have a business that doesn't take cash that's fine, although you are obliged to put up signage somewhere that makes this clear upfront. But you can't add a surcharge for electronic payment if it is the only way to pay - no matter what day of...
Read moreSuch a nice addition to our little suburb! Both bagels me and my partner had were great - we had the vegan and gluten free options. Great coffee - so good we ordered a second one. I see some people commenting about the price, it’s definitely not your everyday breakfast - but the food we got was high quality and quite big portions. For me I feel that this is more of a treat, and tbh eating out is expensive anywhere, still cheaper than your standard cafe avo toast. And it’s good to support small businesses like this.
My only suggestion is that the bagels could have been heated through a bit more. But we’ll definitely be back! Thanks for the...
