Tara's Cafe and Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Melbourne

We tried the Tandoori Platter and it was really good — lots of variety and everything was tasty, fresh, and tender. The only downside was the amount of food colouring used. My fingers were stained yellow, and even after washing twice with soap, it did not fully go away. Honestly, the dish was already great on its own and did not really need all that colour. Frankly speaking, people care more about taste and quality than how awesomely colourful the food was!

The chicken biryani was okay — I would give it 3.5 stars. There was a good amount of chicken, though most pieces were a bit chunky (boneless) . I personally prefer leg pieces or pieces with bones.. But that's more on the personal preference side I must admit, . Also, the biriyani rice was a bit lumpy. I would have liked it more if the grains were a bit more separate and fluffy. Worst food experience!!!! I went there and ordered basic Indian snacks like Samosa and Pakoda. Samosa was okay (not that great) but the chatni was hillarious. The pakodas were clumsy and sluggish, loaded with Besan and nothing more. I left all pakodas on the plate as I could not finish even one. Hey, I also ordered Mushroom Tandoori. Usually this is the food I order when I go to every Indian restaurant. Unfortunately, I was so very sad to see how the plate looked and tasted. Can you imagine a plate of boiled mushroom with the world's cheapest cheese stuffed and nothing more. They call it mushroom tandorrie.

On top of all, imagine who would not be greeted when you enter the restaurant. The waiter does not say hello and respond to your thank-you.,..Horrible Experience! Please think before entering into this...

Manchurian tasted sweet!!! I would say worst indo chinese was this one. I usually like spicy food and have good toleranece to chilli and spice but the vindaloo sabjhi we ordered was patethic. Menu did mention that it will be spicy but there should be some limit to it. It was no other taste than red chilli paste. No particular taste to gravy other than so so so so over spicy that we had to throw sabjhi after having hardly 2 3 bites.

1 star is for roti which we put innstomach woth some saunce and cheese on it to make it like a pizza instead to fill innpur stomach .

I usually do not prefer giving negative review but this one deserved it this time. Pathetic manchurian and vindaaloo.
