I ordered a Gluten Free (CELIAC) bacon and egg toasted sandwich via Uber Eats. When it arrived, it was immediately clear it was not on gluten free bread. I’ve been diagnosed with Celiac disease for 7 years, I know exactly what gluten free bread looks like, and this was absolutely not it.
There was no way to contact the venue directly, which is unacceptable in situations involving serious dietary requirements. I drove to the location myself and was met by a polite staff member who asked what the issue was. Upon explaining that the bread was not gluten free, she immediately went to the kitchen. I heard the chef respond, “We’ve run out of gluten free bread.” No apology, no explanation, just that. There solution for this was to serve a Celiac normal bread!
The staff member returned and apologised, saying the chef had gotten confused. That’s completely unacceptable. This isn’t a simple mistake, this is a major health risk. If I had eaten that sandwich, I could have been extremely ill for weeks.
There is no excuse for this level of negligence. The chef knowingly prepared my food without the required gluten free bread and made no attempt to inform me of the substitution. This shows a complete disregard for food safety and allergy awareness.
Frankly, it’s disgusting that someone with such a careless attitude toward food allergies is preparing meals for the public. This could have caused a medical emergency , either for me, or for someone else with even more severe dietary restrictions. This needs to be taken seriously,...
Read moreAbsolutely appalled by the experience at Cornerstone Coffee. We were a group of six — the food was average at best, but the real shocker was the disgusting attitude of the South Asian female staff member.
We ordered three dishes with poached eggs, and every single one came out overcooked. When we politely pointed it out, she spoke to us in an aggressive, condescending tone, falsely claiming that “poached eggs are always hard unless specified.” As a chef with 8+ years of experience, I know for a fact that poached eggs are meant to be runny — this is basic culinary knowledge.
To avoid ruining our outing, we let it pass. But when I later asked her name to provide honest feedback, she became hostile, refused to give her name, and shockingly told me and my husband to “get out of the house.” It was one of the rudest, most unprofessional interactions I’ve ever experienced in any hospitality venue.
This behavior is disgraceful and completely unacceptable. Management needs to take immediate and strict action. I will never return, and I will strongly advise others to stay away from this place if they value even basic respect...
Read moreReview based on coffee and breakfast, Let me Start with the positives, the coffee was fantastic, perfect temperature of milk, balanced taste of coffee, and well expanded milk so nice and creamy one 5/5 for the coffee in my opinion. As for the breakfast that's where I was let down, let down due to the price and amount of food for the price. I had scram eggs on toast with potato rosti and bacon, mushrooms. I don't get this day and age serving 1 slice of toast with breakfast with the prices charged. That's my first issue, second is the amount for extras and the little you get for that amount. I had a few little mushrooms for $3.50 and the rosti was the biggest robbery of them all at $4.00 for two little bits. The only thing that was decent was the amount of bacon served. Despite that the presentation and quality was good just feel it was very steep for a cafe in Pakenham. I would of given an extra star if there was more on the plate and really would be close to a 5 star rating due to the coffee and quality but yeah, let down by the amount...
