RESPONSE TO OWNER!!!! Very sad to hear the owner telling lies to the media and customers!!! First of all, we never spend more than 30 minutes in the Shop. We never ask for ‘FREE’ hot water, you can charge for the hot water but you never asked for that! TO THE OWNER, if you are a ‘HONEST’ owner, you can always show your cctv record to the media to show that we spent up to two hours in your shop! You can ask the police to see together! You are full of lies and Be responsible to your customer, and what you have said here is not true! I can’t imagine how you live with telling lies to people and what you feel inside your heart! And print out the receipt that we had spent in your shop last Sunday, that was more than $25 , 5 people sitting in a 4 seaters for 20mins ONLY *PLEASE DO NOT TELL LIES!

Very very very bad customer service experience ever had!!!!!! To whom never been there before, strongly not recommend to go!!!! There are many good cafe with good customer service around!!! Ridiculous incident happened in this Honey and Thief bakery at Blackburn South. Very bad and rude, unacceptable customer service. We have 5 of us sitting at the four seater table. Not busy at that moment, we waited very long for orange juice so we followed up when can we get the orange juice politely. The staff answered us in very impatient manner, said they are doing it now but both the staffs still chatting over there. After the orange juice was served, half way, a lady came out and chased us out, told us we spent too little at the shop and yet we asked for hot water. She said she is the owner of the shop and said to us we have to leave the shop immediately. We told her we will leave once we finish off our drinks and breads. One of us was half way drinking her orange juice, she just snatched the glass from her. We have been in Melbourne more than 20 years, haven’t came across this thing before. If they have minimum charge, should tell us. The boss threatened us by saying if we don’t go she will call police. She said she is the owner, she has the right to do whatever she likes to the customers! And then she called police and the police didn’t take any action as this is not a criminal matter. She was just wasting police time. Some customers saw this happened, they left immediately. We will never step into this bakery anymore! The customer service and the attitude the owner and stuffs treating the customers are very disappointing and is not respecting the customers. Not recommend to go as this type of rude and inrespectful customer service towards customers are not acceptable at all! The owner obviously is being racist over...

I've been wanting to go to Honey thief for some time now and was blessed to have been taken out to lunch there today on our way back from the Dandenongs area. We just made it in time before closing about 30 minutes prior to. I was I disappointed to miss out on the Moroccan chickpea and sweet potato pie but that will teach us to get there earlier next time! lol. I settled on the vegetable pasty and my friend had the frittata. Both were served with some side salad and I had a bee sting to go. The food was delicious and I will definitely be back but next time I will make sure to grab a few loaves of bread and extra cakes as I live in the city area and will take the bread loaves home for the freezer. If you are driving through Blackburn south area or live nearby I definitely recommend a stop at honey thief. I will definitely be back. The food was delicious and I look forward to trying more especially the Moroccan chickpea and sweet potato pie. A cosy earthy feel. Best place in the whole Blackburn...

Unfortunately i had an incredibly dissapointing experience. I purchased the cinnamon bronut, nutella doughnut, sour cherry danish, a croissant and chai latte. To my surprise and disappointment, all of the baked goods were very stale, dry and unpleasant to eat. The most dry and stale tasting was the nutella doughnut followed by the cinnamon bronut. The danish was ok when warmed up and so was the croissant however it was very different to a traditional Croissant. Pastry was not light and flakey, it was rather thick and had the distinct taste of a thickly applied egg wash. I was so excited to try the baked goods after seeing photos and reviews and still cannot believe how dissapointing my experience was. Pastries were definitely not freshly baked and tasted a few days old which is not what i expected from such a bakery. I'm happy to spend $$ on good quality, freshly baked goods but unfortunately this was not the case here. Won't be returning...

Great local bakery with a good range of sweet treats. Picked up a selection for a work team morning tea including flourless orange, cinnamon bronut (a giant donut that was super fluffy- not a brownie donut), chocolate brownie and apple crumble cake. Everything was delicious, very impressed. Will definitely be back next time to try other items!

A perfect little bakery/cafe for bread lovers. I purchased a loaf of pumpkin sourdough, a fig, walnut and fennel seed baguette and an almond croissant to take away, they were moist, warm and soft on the inside. Not to mention it has a great display of their breads, just made me want to order everything.

Amazing bakery with the best sourdough and pastries in Melbourne. The bee sting and almond croissant are my favourites. Staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the vibe feels really homely. It does get busy at times, but totally worth the wait. Highly recommend!
