Our family breakfast outing at The Jolly Miller in Williams Landing was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived—without a booking—we were warmly welcomed and seated quickly by the friendly and accommodating staff. Their hospitality set the tone for what turned out to be one of the best breakfasts we’ve enjoyed in a long time.
Mr Big – 10/10 Hands down the best big breakfast I’ve had. Every component on the plate was cooked to perfection. I have a mushroom allergy, and the team was incredibly accommodating, swapping them out for fresh avocado (not the usual smashed variety most places default to, which was a nice touch). I was also able to choose how I wanted my eggs—another plus. The sausages were perfectly seasoned, not overly salty, the hash brown had a unique twist but was delicious, and the grilled tomato was spot on. Even the option to choose your bread makes this dish feel tailored to your taste.
Brekkie Bun – 9/10 This was another highlight with its hearty fillings and a surprise onion ring topping that added great texture and flavor. While I enjoyed the richness, the family member who ordered it felt it was a bit heavy for a morning meal. Still, the flavors delivered.
Banana Bread French Toast – 9/10 A sweet treat that lived up to the hype. The banana bread was fluffy and full of flavor, complemented beautifully by the mascarpone on the side. While the strawberries could have been fresher, the addition of raspberries and blueberries really elevated the dish.
Wagyu Beef Burger – 9/10 Juicy, flavorful, and well-balanced. The only downside was that some of the potato wedges were undercooked, but otherwise, it was a satisfying and hearty choice.
Service – 10/10 The service was impeccable from start to finish. Staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely accommodating, even with dietary needs. Despite not having a reservation on a busy weekend morning, we were seated quickly without any hassle.
Final Thoughts: Jolly Miller Williams Landing delivered a top-tier breakfast experience. The attention to detail in both the food and the service made it feel special. It's refreshing to see a café that takes pride in both its menu and customer care. We left happy, full, and already talking about our next visit.
Rating: 9.5/10 – Highly Recommended
Thank you to the team for making our family breakfast one...
Read moreI dropped into this cafe today for the first time. Food was looking good and I was eager to make this my new regular cafe for daily coffee and occasional meals with the family. Today I only ordered one large iced long black takeaway. The price of $10 surprised me and I should have questioned it, but, as I’d never been here, I thought it must be normal and I paid it. A few minutes later the barista called out an order of an iced mocha. She told me it was mine and I politely told her I’d ordered an iced long black. I am lactose intolerant and I don’t eat chocolate so this is something I have never ordered. I actually had never heard of an iced mocha until now. The barista made my iced long black and I thanked her. Mix ups happen from time to time and it’s no big deal. The barista told me the drink I paid for was more expensive than the one I’d actually ordered and she directed me to the counter to get back the difference between the drinks. Turns out the difference was only $2.50 so I considered not worrying about it, but I politely explained what had happened to the man at the counter. He was nice and happy to return the money due to the mix up. However, the server who had taken my order originally was so rude I was shocked. She aggressively told me that I’d ordered the iced mocha and that she remembered me doing so. Her tone was intimidating and she was clearly angry. I did not feel comfortable with her talking to me in such a way, especially as I had my two small children in the pram with me. She hovered over the man and I as we were trying to sort it out and her body language was very intimidating. She was giving me horrible looks and I got the impression that if I wasn’t extremely polite (as I was), she was wanting to get into a heated exchange with me. As soon as I walked off I heard her barrage of comments about me being a liar etc etc to the other employees. I have no idea why I would lie about which drink I ordered and I absolutely did not order a drink which I cannot drink. This interaction made me feel very uneasy. I will not be returning and I would encourage others to...
Read moreI don't leave bad reviews but felt compelled to do this after a few visits to the Williams Landing store and having to deal with unhappy waitresses almost on all occasions. My experience this morning has confirmed that I should not be back to this place. I bought four slices of hedgehogs from the counter and I asked before purchasing if those slices are fresh, and the female attendant at the cashier confirmed they are made fresh every day. As she put them in a box for me, I noticed that the colour of 2 hedgehog slices were not as dark as the others and looked dry. They were the ones that they've put at the very back of the rows, so I thought they must have been the oldest ones. I asked if the two slices can be swapped with the ones at the very front of the rows as they looked a lot fresher. She said "no sorry, that's not how it works. I have to take the ones from the back of the row first." I was so shocked, I had to remind her that I'm a paying customer and I would like to get the ones from the front rows. She finally swapped them, but of course I had to cop the attitude. I won't be back to this cafe. What happens to the saying "customer is king" I wonder. Even if they are all fresh (which I think they will claim) - what is wrong with my request? I just wanted to buy hedgehog slices that have the same colour. Is that too...
