If you're looking for authentic Hungarian cuisine that tastes like it came straight from grandma's kitchen, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. From the duck dish with purple cabbage to the pork hock and chicken paprikash with cucumber salad, everything on the menu is simply divine.
The home-style cooking is evident in every bite, and it's hard to choose a favorite dish. The duck is cooked to perfection and the purple cabbage complements it beautifully. The pork hock is juicy and flavorful, while the chicken paprikash is rich and hearty.
The ambiance of the restaurant is just as impressive as the food. The warm and inviting decor transports you to Hungary, making you feel right at home. Whether you're looking for a cozy spot for a romantic dinner or a lively atmosphere to enjoy with friends, this restaurant has it all.
Overall, if you're looking for an authentic Hungarian dining experience, look no further than this restaurant. The food is simply outstanding and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Highly recommended and will...
Read moreHearty and delicious. A genuine Hungarian gem in Melbourne!
This place is tucked away on Glen Huntly Road but is clearly known to the locals and its many regulars. Always a good crowd in the homely little dining area - but never too loud you can’t hear yourself!
The service is fantastic. Extremely lovely staff who are attentive and paying attention to details. The water will never run out and they make sure to time the dishes perfectly.
And the food itself is incredibly yummy. Very authentic Hungarian meals, made with high quality ingredients and clearly great care and knowledge from the chefs. The tastes are unique to the Hungarian experience, and very delicious - especially good if you are looking for something substantial and filling. These foods are made so you do not go Hungary! (sorry I couldn’t help myself)
There is a fantastic range to the menu with many different portion sizes available to suit any need.
I would particularly recommend the Crumbed Mushroom, and the Cabbage Roll, which was an...
Read moreI am not one for writing reviews unless I experience something unusual or exceptional; this experience has forced my hand, for all the wrong reasons! I am a Hungarian, my 95 year old mother lives in care in Geelong, as a special treat we decided to drive her to South Caulfield in order for her to enjoy a nostalgic Hungarian dinner. Big mistake! There were seven of us around the table, each meal presented was very disappointing; this is not the taste and opinion of one. The nokedli served was severely water logged, tasteless and mushy. The paprika chicken looked and tasted like boiled chicken without any flavour at all, the goulash was stringy, tough and oily, the chicken livers were drowned in oil or lard, almost inedible! Potatoes and mushrooms were not cooked through - I could go on and on - the only saving grace was the cucumber salad which, almost, tasted as it should. It is safe to presume we will not be returning or recommending...
