Come on! Better service at McDonald’s or Hungry Jacks.
Gluten-free hamburger with chips for our coeliac friend. Order taken and paid for, then…”sorry madam, we don’t have gluten-free rolls or bread” not to worry - the entree salt and pepper squid will do, but with chips please…”no, you won’t need chips - there’s plenty”… despite still requesting chips, the staff REFUSED to add to the order.
We asked a second staff member if chips can please be added to the entree S&P squid, as it’s for a main - and was told …”no, it will be enough”…
They refunded the difference between the hamburger and entree…but the S&P squid was an entree and NOT a complete meal - not to mention customer service!
Another order was Chicken Parmagiana, I’m sure they thought that the huge layer of ham was a bonus, but, despite the melted cheese it was fridge cold.
I’m struggling to understand how a commercial kitchen does not have the basic ingredients for their standard menu on hand (bread freezes team), but to have the staff refuse to put a 50 cents cost item on to a plate is mind boggling bad...
Read moreI have been going to Park hotel on and off forever 30 years and have always loved the place for its ambiance and food. But unfortunately last night I had an unfortunate experience. I know the bar was busy, but one of the waitresses who has been there for many years basically hit my elbow so hard it made jump off my stool. She walked off saying nothing like a drunk patron would. I went straight to the bar to complain about my painfully experience. Thought the manager would have said something to the waitress ,as I thought an apology was appropriate. She did eventually reappear to clear more tables but not to apologize. As she passed by I mentioned the incident and she even said it hurt her hand. No apology until I asked. Not the way to treat a long term local client. I mentioned it again to whom I think is the manager who basically just smirked and fobbed me off . All they had to do was say excuse me and sorry. I don't think that was asking to much. I should not have to ask for someone to...
Read moreOnce again unto the breach dear friends, once more. And so it was that we headed back to the old stomping ground of Abbotsford to revisit an old favorite. The Park Hotel has changed hands since the last time I was there. The new owners have made a few changes but not enough to make the old girl unrecognizable. Food was good, all 4 at our table enjoyed theirs. The only criticism I would make is the transition to a full craft tap beer selection. I and my partner both thought that the list lacked balance with a few stouts, a sour and a bunch of overly hoppy offerings. The Park of old had Carlton on tap but also offered Coopers Lager. I understand the reasons for getting rid of the CUB offerings but why not hang onto the Coopers for those who just want a crisp, easy drinking beer or 10. We left straight after dinner, 2 hours earlier than expected, and headed elsewhere...
