The service was amazing. Lovely girl served us. It was Easter weekend so busy but was pretty quick in the lineup. They have a big selection and loads of pies so will have to come back and try more but we were just here for dessert. We got the caramel slice, pecan pie and large Anzac biscuit. I’ll start with the good. And it was actually great. Caramel spice was really good, I’d prob get that again. My mum thought it was too sweet but I loved it. The Anzac biscuit was average, the taste was okay but it was too hard, needed a softer centre. The worst unfortunately was the pecan pie, I LOVE pecan pies but this was terrible and had 2 bites and I was done, 2nd to make sure I’m not making it up! The what should be caramel around the pecans was just a bad flavour. My mum didn’t like it much either. What a shame. I would come back to this place because they were quite popular and the caramel slice saved them.

Bakery by the River is a must-visit when you're in Warburton. I brought my family and a friend to enjoy the cozy outdoor takeaway setting, and it turned out to be such a lovely stop. The country-style pies and pastries were hearty and comforting, but the lamington easily stole the spotlight — especially for my cousin and parents. My cousin’s a true lamington lover, and every time she visits Australia, it’s top of her dessert list. This one hit all the right notes — soft, airy sponge, a chocolate layer that wasn’t overly sweet, and just the right amount of coconut. Simple, classic, and done really well. It was one of those places that leaves you smiling — nice food, fresh air, and happy memories shared over something sweet. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.

Cheapest cafe on the street! You can't go into the shop but lots of seating outside. Lots of cake, pastries, pies selection but you can only view them from the window when ordering so it's a bit stressful trying to decide which yummy cake to get! I love that the large coffee was only $5.90, medium was 4 ish, small was 3 ish. Other cafes charge a supposed regular for $4.90 but the size is small. There also wasn't a public holiday surcharge. When ordering, the staff takes your name, you then wait. Another staff will come out on the door to the left, yell out your name and place your coffee at a waiting table. The staff were really friendly!

The Warburton Bakery

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Warburton Bakery is an absolute gem.

You are greeted with a warm smile and friendly service that makes you feel right at home. The pies here are to die for – flaky crusts, delicious fillings, and made with so much love.

One delightful surprise was the friendly pigeons that hang around the shop. They add a unique charm to the place, making it feel like a cozy little community hub. During my visit, one of these feathered friends accidentally knocked over my coffee. Without hesitation, the shop owners offered me a fresh cup on the house. This kind gesture truly exemplified their outstanding customer service.

Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Warburton Bakery is a must-visit. Great pies and...
