If I could give this restaurant a 0 star review I would. I was looking forward to a nice dinner outing with my friends and was left intensely disappointed and dissatisfied with whole experience and food.
If a restaurant is ill equipped to cater to a large party of people, then they should not be taking in any more customers. We would have been more than happy and understanding and left to find another restaurant. However, if an establishment is willing to take in more customers, they should be able to uphold their standard of service - which was something we did not receive.
It took over an hour for our food to arrive. The excuse we were given was that they were held up serving the other group of large customers. Again, if you are unable to adequately serve ALL of your customers at least give us a warning before hand that the service may be a bit slow.
We were also not told that the entire room we were seated in was a large group of around 20-30 people all from the same party for someone's birthday celebration. As we were leaving the restaurant after our meal and being stuck in there waiting for them to finish up their birthday speeches, one of the people form their group told us to "show some respect". It is the restaurant's responsibility to inform other customers if there are such events being held in a public dining space if the other party did not book the entire room. This was an extremely upsetting situation.
If the food was any good, perhaps the whole night might have been at least a little more enjoyable. However, when you have sat there for an hour waiting for a bowl of laksa (that costed nearly $30) that tasted like a flavourless volcano it just made things worse. It also does not take an HOUR to make a bowl of laksa which is just noodles and toppings in a reheated soup.
Lastly, as we were leaving, the staff who knew about our dissatisfaction with the extremely slow service failed to offer any apologies. As someone with a lot of experience within the hospitality industry it is genuinely difficult for me to understand how hard it is to at least offer some form of verbal condolence.
If I ever recommend a restaurant to someone I hated, it would...
Read moreDon't bother! Being foodies we were looking forward to a night to remember, well its one we won't forget but not in a good way. Started the night with staff trying to shove us onto a table at the door that wasn't even made up with the wind and rain blowing in on this unusual summer night, we asked if we could have a table closer in and felt like its was an imposition or perhaps we were not hip enough to sit next to the other punters. After receiving menu's we waited for ever before someone decided to ask for our order with it being very clear we were ready to order and had menus stacked and kept trying to make contact with one of the many staff on for the night. We shared the squid which was just fried calamari rings probably frozen from the bottom of the freezer draw as it lacked any piazza. My partner decided not bother eating this due to its unforgettably sad flavor saving herself for the main course. After finishing the starter and wondering what happened to the drinks we ordered we called over a waiter to ask for the wine which he thought was a second order. We eventually received our wine which was at least cold! Mains had to be the last straw....my curry was more like a watered down Italian pasta sauce without the pasta or any flavor what so ever not to mention the sprinkle of seafood that again was tasteless and over cooked. Partner ordered the pork belly which we joked about it being twice cooked, once last week and left in the pan then again on the night! Salad served with the pork look and tasted like it was left in an old boot sock. We don't normally take the time to complain but the night was such a disaster that we only thought it right to let people know. On top of this we got hit...
Read moreI ordered online at 7:30pm and was given a pick-up time of 8:08pm. I arrived at 8:10pm. After waiting for 5 minutes at the pickup counter, I was finally greeted by a uni student tho this was after she finished her conversation with the rest of the wait staff.
After I provided my order number for pickup, the waitress left to get my order, only to return and question whether I was an Uber Eats driver picking up someone else's order. "No, I am not.""I order online." She then went to check with the kitchen (which is visible from the front of the restaurant). The chef was laughing along with the waitress. After that, she returned and apologised, saying, "We're missing a chef, so there will be a 15-minute wait." Sure….
I hesitantly agreed and confirmed: 15 minutes? She then stated, "Maybe another 20-25 minutes." 30 minutes later (8:40pm), my order arrives, along with a verbatim script stating "thank you so much for waiting, we really appreciate your patience". Ugh…
To top it off, when I finally got home and opened my tofu Choo Chee curry, there were just four measly pieces of tofu and satay sauce that’s basically a tub of soy sauce.
Save yourself from phoney, obnoxious customer service and subpar Thai cuisine. You would be better off heading to Union Square and ordering from Thai...
