Good Days Brunswick — Restaurant in Melbourne

This is a review posted in regards to a takeaway - I ordered the noodle salad with tofu and mushrooms. I was really excited as I had read all the good reviews and saw all the pictures commending the meals here.

Upon receiving my order I walked away thinking it looked a bit underwhelming for an $18 noodle salad.

I walked away with my takeaway and after further inspection found it to be missing the spring rolls. That was the part I was looking forward to the most and most people would be fairly excited for them too.

I walked back to the restaurant where they told me that the takeaway noodle salad didn't have any spring rolls because "they don't keep well" in takeaway. The server stated that if I wanted them next time in the order, I should tell the restaurant. Aghast, speechless and in a rush I couldn't tell them to make them right away.

The menu online doesn't state there's a difference between the takeaway version and dining in. Also the cost for both is the same! If the takeaway were $5 cheaper, I'd understand but the cost for a meal with and without the spring rolls is the same and that is not fair.

So in the end that was mostly disappointing! The noodle salad was fresh and the two skewers (one each of tofu and mushroom) were tasty but left me hungry, sadly for an $18 meal.

I would die for this beef pho. If it were my last day on Earth and I had hours to live, I’d come eat this beef pho. If I were on death row and had to choose a final meal, it would be this beef pho. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would be this beef pho.

The noodles are toothsome and bouncy. The beef is tender and well-seasoned. The broth is incredibly rich with a depth of flavour I’ve never before seen in a bowl of pho. They always give you enough toppings and sauces, the serving size is enough to lick the bowl clean and feel utterly satisfied. This isn’t a meal, it’s a work of art. It’s a testament to the ingenuity of the human mind and a rare glimpse at absolute, unmitigated greatness.

Good Days Noodle Bar, I would kill for you....

Absolute winner for viet food. I am so impressed. As a Vietnamese person myself that is quite critical of food and viet food in general, this is so incredibly delicious. They have taken viet food, did it justice with the more boujee versions, and taken it to another level. I love the more upscale vibe than a typical viet restaurant whilst having that nightly vibe. The beef pho has depth, umami flavours and you can taste layers of beef flavours. The slices of beef are tender and high quality. Chicken vermicelli bowls are such good value and freshly grilled and I love that it’s got that fresh quality! Chicken wings and spring rolls are crispy and yum.
