@juanitapeaches is a neighbourhood diner in Brunswick serving up some of the best burgers, burritos and fried chicken around - and it’s also home to @alldaydonuts.

The space has a warm, comfy, 70’s retro vibe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is stripped-back and no-fuss, simple in choice but definitely not in flavour. Honestly, it’s refreshing not to be overwhelmed with options! šŸ¤—

⭐ Double Cheeseburger – grass-fed brisket patties, perfectly caramelised, in their own house-made buns. We added hot peppers for an extra kick. You probably don’t need the double, these patties are a great size! One of the tastiest burgers ive ever had.
⭐ Fried Chicken Sandwich – skin-on chicken with next-level crunch. We added pickles, cheese and spice.ā€Øāž– Poutine
⭐ Popcorn Chicken – perfection with the pickles and house-made BBQ sauce.ā€Øāœ”ļø Vanilla Malt Thickshakeā€Øāœ”ļø Strawberry Cheesecake Donut
⭐ Banana Fritter Donutā€Øāž– Iced Chocolate – not overly sweet

Melbourne is definitely in the midst of a burger resurgence but this is one of the OG’s - and they’ve still absolutely got it. Packed from midday onwards, which says it all!...

I walked into Juanita Peaches hoping for a quick bite but left feeling like I’d just failed a pop quiz on burger lingo. The whole place felt like it was running on some secret code, and I was clearly not ā€˜in the know.’

The cashier asked, ā€œAre you here for the Juanita or the Peach?ā€ I said, ā€œUh, the Peach?ā€ She raised an eyebrow and corrected me, ā€œOh, you mean you’re going Peach-style?ā€ I nodded, trying to play along. Then she asked, ā€œJuani-blast or Peach Fuzz?ā€ā€”which I later found out meant sauce and fries, but they don’t actually tell you that.

I tried ordering something simple, so I said, ā€œJust a burger, please.ā€ She looked at me like I’d spoken a different language. ā€œOh, sorry, we don’t have anything called ā€˜just a burger’ on the menu. Did you mean a Juanita-classic with Extra Peachy?ā€ By this point, I was losing it.

After a few more failed attempts to order anything close to a burger with fries, I finally gave up and left. If you enjoy solving riddles just to eat lunch, maybe Juanita Peaches is your thing. Personally, I was looking for a meal, not a...

my group and i were quite excited for our food. but the service was a joke and it left a bad taste in our mouths when it came to the food.

at the register, i ordered my own fries and a serving of poutine to share because we ALL wanted to try it. the waiter looked at me weirdly which felt almost judgemental which made me feel super uncomfortable going back to my seat.

then, i thought i could get individual sauces because they’re listed on the menu, so i asked the same waiter who took my order for two sauces, and i said i will pay the difference- he seemed irritated at that.

my other friend also ordered two extra sauces at the counter, which she didn’t receive when the meals came through. she asked the same waiter for the sauces she ordered, so she got his attention to which he replied ā€œoh my god what now!?ā€ and then complained to another co worker for having to give us another sauce which is unnecessary.

i never write reviews lmao, but this was terrible. we were going to buy donuts because we were so excited but i we couldn’t bring ourselves to...

Cute diner with yummy fried chicken and nice outdoor seating. My husband and I went on Sunday for late lunch. Weather was sunny and warm in the 20s, so we got an outdoor seat. There was no wait but our table wasn’t cleared for another 15-20 mins. Go into the store and get a menu to order at the cashier. We got fried drumsticks (ala carte, no set), poutine, and fish burritos. Fried drumsticks has a nice thin batter, flavourful but falls off rather easily. Poutine has nice cheese curds and tasty gravy, but getting beyond the first layer it becomes soaked in gravy and more like mash at that point. I also wish the cheese curds were slightly more melted. Fish burritos came with chips and my husband enjoyed it. They also had cider from a local vegan friendly company - refreshing but got a bit too gassy at the end. We got a raspberry yuzu donut to go, but we found the glaze too sweet and rather enjoyed a plain donut. The donut itself was quite fluffy and had a nice texture.

I tried the Fried Chicken burger and it was great. Suuuuper juicy chicken, evenly coated crumb, not too greasy, great portion, good amount of their ā€˜boss sauce’. I assume the name ā€˜boss sauce’ means the sauce is their own recipe, but I could’ve sworn it was just tomato sauce. I could be wrong but it wasn’t what I was expecting. Next time I might add/swap the sauce for another. I also tried their Strawberry Milkshake and it was okay. It tasted like blended neopolitan ice cream which is a personal pet peeve because I’d like some more effort than just that. Their fries were good - I love shoestring fries, they were just seasoned with regular salt. Whilst Juanita Peaches doesn’t appear to be very experimental, they’ve got the basics if you’re into the no fuss kind of food. It’s still good quality and tasty, I’d come back again. I’d love to try their cheeseburger, buffalo wings and poutine next time! Worth a try if you’re in the area.
