Tommy's Toasties — Restaurant in Melbourne

The toasties here are delicious, and anyone wanting this type of food will be very happy with the tasty food, with generous serves being given at reasonable prices. There are various options, such as being based on panini, focaccia, or sour-dough bread, and jaffles (done in a toasting iron) are done with some items.

The ones I found to be favourites included a ham and cheese panini or focaccia and a braised steak and onion jaffle. There are many other options, though.

In the early days of this shop, other common café items were limited, as to different options, but even now, more are being added. But if you want really well cooked toasties, you cannot do better than...

Had a great plain cheese toastie here, loved that it was made on sourdough bread - was such a nice crunch! Unfortunately my toastie had the flavouring of the prior toastie that must have been made in there, on the outlining of 2 sides of crust which I couldn't eat (no idea what it was, tuna? salami?) something that appeared like a liquid that was on the crust and cooked into it. I also found $10 for a plain cheese toastie expensive, however understand that sourdough does cost more than regular bread, and the toastie was larger than I expected to maybe okay. Ideal place to visit for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and all times in between. I love the chicken pesto toastie, it is absolutely delicious, filled with succulent chicken, gooey cheese, spinach and of course pesto, yum yum, so tasty and filling. The chocolate brownie and the humongous choc chip cookie are by far the best I’ve tasted. They have a wide range of toasties, sandwiches, jaffles, soup, desserts...
