Tuckers Sandwiches — Restaurant in Melbourne

yesterday, 22 April 2024 2pm, had to be my most disappointing purchase of my favourite pastrami sandwich!!!! I have purchased for myself and my partner this sandwich about six times now; and also introduced and purchased for my family members too.

Yesterday after work, I purchased two pastrami sandwiches and two potato cakes taken home to my partner to surprise him only to find the sandwich has changed totally.🤬🤬🤬🤬

What did I find the sandwich to be …. One and half centimetres thick mayonnaise mixed with chopped gherkin and chopped pastrami and 2 extra small cups of mayonnaise added to this order ARE YOU FRIGGEN KIDDING!!!!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬 Only bits of pink and green colour specs!!!!! Just visible, what the hell is happening here?

No sign of Sauerkraut sitting under layers of beautiful folds of pastrami!!!!!!!!!

We ate only part of the sandwich only because we purchased it, BUT never again!!!!

Sorry guys you have lost me! And will never refer people know at this standard.

So disappointed, that I woken up this morning.still thinking about it. looking for a number to call the manager to ask him what has happened here. No number available that I had to now write up a review! which I didn’t want to, but felt the need to as I’m so disappointed.

3.5/5 Tasty! However, expect long wait times especially during busier times. 🙂 The staff were doing their best and since they are a new takeaway store I understood. The staff advised a 15-20 minute wait time when I ordered but my order took 33 minutes. Purchased the McTucker and Pastrami. I think the pastrami sandwich was a bit too toasted but we could still eat it! I saw quite a few customers wondering how much longer they had to wait, if their name had been called out etc. I think the store should use some sort of number system and have a screen up for order numbers. This gives customers an exact idea of how far they are in the line and it also saves time for the front of staff to not spend too much time walking out and calling out names. Since the store is only takeaway I think this would definitely help.

Also even in peak times, customers should not be waiting this long for sandwiches. I think with efficient prep and organisation, the waiting time could be brought down a lot lower! For me, when I buy sandwiches I'm buying it because I want something filling, simple and doesn't take too long compared to a sit down other cuisine restaurant.

Really disappointing.

Went in on a Saturday morning, 4 people were in there before me, I ordered a “Mother Tucker” for the price of $18 with a card surcharge of .20c. I waited 15 minutes while the people who were in before me had only ordered coffee and had left before I sighted any food. I then went home and opened up the bag to find I was given a McTucker (an $8 cheaper item). The English muffin was nice but the house pickle was top divisive in the flavours of the muffin and overruled the rest of the fillings. The House made sausage patty resembled not much more than plain hamburger meat and all I found myself really enjoying not much more than just the egg, cheese and the muffin itself.

Rather than be pretentious about my opinion on the flavours of the muffin my review is purely fuelled by the fact I was charged almost double for an item I did not receive. For a place so fresh, I would have expected a higher standard of service than what’s usually associated with McDonalds.

For now, this review stays at a single star purely based on my breakfast experience and upon exploring more of the other menu options I will update...
