If you want a funky, cosy, cute fun cafe to hang out at with friends or even just a coffee on your own for a delectable sweet or savoury treat or lunch, then Tyler's Milk bar in Preston is definitely the place for you.The food is high quality made with the best fresh ingredients. I am in the process of putting together a band and chose this gorgeous hidden gem for a meeting last week. Nestled on the border of Preston and Reservoir in a great location. We sat in the back garden area which was absolutely delightful, with an eclectic retro aesthetic as is the inside. As you enter you are greeted warmly with smiles. The back outdoor area also has a gorgeous little garden which was complemented by the sunshine as Melbourne was being well behaved lol.I ordered the Mamma's Chicken roll, and I was BEYOND satisfied, the perfect balance of seasonings, herbs like dill and with little bursts of zesty lemon on a beautiful soft fresh roll, was like a hug for the belly, comfort food. My bandmate had a Sally Sanga which she enjoyed every bite of, the aromas were mouthwatering. I also took away Mamma's carrot cake and it was moist, delicate and not overly sweet (perfect!) with a tasty tangy cream cheese frosting. Let's just say our bellies approved big time haha. Also fantastic Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options available to cater for dietary requirements. I HIGHLY recommend Tyler's Milk bar, thanks guys you're awesome and we shall...
Read moreUpdate, again, 24 May 2025. Today's board recommendations didn't disappoint. The beef was tender and the hot chocolate....so rich and chocolatey. Thank you again team. Update 7 May 2025. Still the best choc-malt milkshake ever. As for the spicy baked beans, you must try them before they disappear. A consistent 5-star cafe. Thanks again. Original post: Super-friendly staff and fresh/tasty food. Their home-made Monte Carlo biscuits (and choc-chips), are great. I no longer live in the area, but they are definitely worth the travel to buy more. Having grown up in the area decades ago, I remember how much life and buzz the shopping strip had. To see how the shopping area now looks is sad. However, if the QUALITY of Tyler's millkbar and the number of its patrons are anything to go by, there's hope that the rest of the strip to follow suit. Thank you, Sam and co. ...
Read moreI will not be going to Tyler's Milk bar again after multiple experiences of rudeness from one of the workers. From being snapped at (more than three times) for entering the backyard and told to check in with the front (which we had already done), condescending comments when we asked about items on the menu and general poor customer service. Once when I was there I overheard the worker telling a couple off for moving an umbrella for shade. I get that perhaps there may be a rule regarding moving things like this but the way this woman spoke to the couple was as if she was their mother, speaking to them like they were naughty children. I get the sense that the worker finds managing the backyard stressful, which I empathise with, but I will not tolerate her taking out her frustration on the customers. It's a shame because although a little pricey the food and coffee...
