Wokzy — Restaurant in Melbourne

Great restaurant when it first opened. Has gone somewhat downhill over the past few months which is a pity. Example ordered the special fried rice with our meal. Out comes a bowl of fried rice that was a steamed version, not fried. When we pointed out that is steamed not fried excuse was given that they actually ran out of the pre prepared fried rice! Why not tell us when ordering our meal that they were actually out of fried rice? Shu Mai and other dumplings are now half the size and no longer the tasty dumplings of the past, also came out lukewarm warm. Previous visit we waited over an hour for our meals. Other patrons also waited forever. It’s a pity to see the restaurant going down hill along with the attitude of the owner Coco being so blase. Woksy Chinese restaurant is a great place to order takeaway for a family feast. We ordered a variety of dishes from their menu and we were not disappointed. The prawn dumplings and pork & prawn siu mai were juicy and flavourful, the salt & pepper calamari was crispy and tender, the pan fried pork dumpling was savoury and satisfying, the satay skewer was spicy and succulent, and the chicken & sweet corn soup was creamy and comforting. For mains, we had king prawn with mixed vegetables, pan fried barramundi, eye fillet with black pepper sauce and Mongolian beef. The king prawn was fresh and crunchy, the barramundi was moist and flaky, the eye fillet was tender and peppery, and the Mongolian beef was rich and tangy. Every dish was delicious and well-portioned. We'll definitely go back to Woksy Chinese restaurant for more mouth-watering...

The recommendations to visit Wokzy were spot on. Three delicious dishes were matched with courteous, professional service in a relaxed modern environment. Both food and wine were very good value.
